Version 42555 Release Notes for Sins of a Dark Age February 4 2015
New QuickCast
Added an alternate form of QuickCast that is only activated on release of the button or key. This allows players to see the range indicator and to cancel by right clicking or hitting escape. This option can be toggled in Options->Gameplay.

Keybindings in the Cloud
Keybindings are now stored in the cloud. After this update you should never have to set them back up again and they will automatically be applied no matter where you log in from.

Experimental Advanced Casting
All Glyphs, Active Shop Items and Active Hero Abilities can now have a custom casting option. Choose between Normal, QuickCast and SmartCast. Further improvements are planned but we wanted to start collecting feedback on it early.

Unit Targeting Modes
Implemented "Target Heroes Only" and "Target Non-Hero units Only" unit targeting modes to control what type of units make it through the "under cursor" check.
    Modes
    • Normal: This is the standard (classic) targeting mode, while active, your cursor doesn't filter out any unit types, and considers everything as potential valid targets.
    • Target Non-Hero Units Only: When this targeting mode is active, your cursor will ignore any Heroes or Structures as potentially valid targets.
    • Target Heroes Only: When this targeting mode is active your cursor will only consider Heroes as potentially valid targets and will ignore structures and all other types of units.
    Toggle Commands
    • These commands will toggle the targeting modes on/off (making the targeting mode you pick, linger as long as you have it toggled on).
    • 'Toggle Target Heroes Only' Command: Default Binding [Ctrl + H]
    • 'Toggle Target Non-Hero Units Only' Command: Default Binding [Ctrl + G]
    Hold Down Commands
    • These commands are only active when you're holding down the bound key, and they override the current "active mode". The only exception to this is if you hold down the key for the currently active mode, it will revert the mode back to "Normal" while the key is held down.
    • 'Target Heroes Only' Command: Default Binding [H]
    • 'Target Non-Hero Units Only' Command: Default Binding [G]

  • Fixed various matchmaking issues.
  • Tons of string clean up and clarification.
  • Can no longer send Fellowship Bundles to friends that have already logged into the game.
  • Eliminated various serious exploits including farming of Virtue, experience and reward points.

Warning 1
  • Players who find serious exploits and do not report them are at risk of being permanently banned and having their inventory wiped. By serious exploits we mean things like (but not limited to) reliably and deliberately crashing the game for a player's benefit or amusement, or farming post-game rewards in an automated, accelerated, unintended or artificial manner.
  • If you find an exploit please let us know at support@ironcladgames.com

Warning 2
  • We needed to do some server optimizations so we had to move a lot of information around. Unfortunately, everyone's client-side game history and hero kits are being wiped. Your game history is still stored (for matchmaking calculations etc) but Profile->Games will be empty until you play more games. This is a one time operation.

Warning 3
  • Keybindings will be reset. This should be the last time as keybindings are now stored in the cloud. After this update you should never have to set them back up again and they will automatically be applied no matter where you log in from.

How is that not a reduction for Slivus his ult ? Sure it was broken and did like no dmg but the dmg bonus% still has been tuned down..

Vexies changes are... interesting.
I only tested them in a custom game so far, but already i feel a bit dissapointed that she lost her
direct heal.
It feels unique now but also less reliable, but i guess that's the point, on the other hand, she seems to be able to heal people with AoE's to full HP in no time.

Slivus ult i didn't test so far but i see what you mean with the increase while it's a decrease.
At lower levels the ult shouldn't be an instant kill but it looks like the higher levels will now feel a lot more rewarding.

Aside from a few performance drops during teamfights i have to figure out, i asume it's due to the changes in the graphics options though i'm not too sure since i set quite a few of them pretty low now, i'd say this is a nice patch.

The primary goal with Tail Whip's revisions has been to keep it fairly similar in damage to it's pre-rework version, but only against an assassin's intended targets - namely carries, mages and supports who aren't significantly itemizing defensively. Changing it from per point missing Health to per percent missing Health means it no longer scales exceptionally well against tanks and bruisers.

The lower bonus% this patch is correcting for an oversight in choosing the numbers when the new ult was modelled mathematically - I erroneously only looked at intended target's health at lvl 15, which resulted in overestimating the damage the pre-revision ult would be dealing at ranks 1 and 2 to similarly leveled intended targets (i.e. lvl 5-6 and 10-11 heroes respectively). If there's enough interest, I can look into sharing the spreadsheet used to model this.

Advanced casting options with hero profiles! Love it...although I'm a bit sad to have lost all of my hero item builds (the shop gear, not hero items)

Couldn't test it yet. Hopefully soon :)

Edit: Tested it in try hero, and quick cast is the same as it was before.

You also may have to go to Advanced Casting to toggle Quickcast on depending on which hero you are playing. (Or all items/abilities.)

Only thing I don't like about the new Vexie so far is that her abilities seem to support Special Power investment more than ever, but that same addition of SP makes Mirth & Mischief trivial to overkill with, which makes it tough to farm health from minions. I'm not sure if the intent is to allow farming off minions, but given the rework of it into a line splash ability, I'd assume it is.
