Something is wrong with chapter's minds counter

I'm stuck with 16/18 in chapter 3 (althought I've already read the drowned skeletons and all the others I've found in the map). In the other chapters the counter stays in 0 althought I've finished the game. Any idea?

try verifying your game cashe, and if that doesn't work then un-install then re-install. I know it doesn't sound ethical at all. But you are just gonna have to trust me here

Cache verified, un-installed and re-installed, still no luck. Maybe I'll have to wait for a patch. OS: Windows 8.1 if it helps the developers to narrow it down.

Let me know if you figure this out. I'm having the same issue. The one thing I will say is that the first time I played chapter 3 I missed the skeletons. Maybe erasing the save and starting over from scratch will fix it. Uninstalling the game doesnt erase the save I dont think.

i got the same problem, this is what i got
chapter 3 -1
chapter 4 - 0
chapter 5 - 0
chapter 6 - 24
anyone who knows where the save file is? i would like to remove it and try again. sometimes i download pirated games when i cant find a demo just to try the game before buying and the save file is from that version so i would really like to start from the beginning. even when i selected new game it kept the chapters and brains from before when i open chapters in the menu

all other games also saves on the hard drive and on some games ive gotten the question that the steam cloud and hard drive save files doesnt match do i want to upload or use the current so i'm pretty sure you can work it out if i just know where the file is located on the harddrive

and if i downloaded the pirated version to try it out and the save file transfered to the steam version when i bought it means that it's saved somewhere

Ok, let's say there is a place where the progress is stored. It seems to be in windows registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Valve/Zoink Games/Stick It To The Man/level.txt_something. The value for that key is encoded, maybe you can erase all of SITTM from the registry and try using it offline. Let me know if that helps you, but I think the developers should make a patch to fix the bug in the first place because we don't know why this happens and if it will or not happen again.

thnx alot, it never hit me until now to look through the registry. its been some time since i messed around in the registry last time but i found 3 entries, 2 that seemed to contain the same information with the encoded level.txt and one other which i think is the information for steam to know that the game is installed so i removed the first 2 entries and started the game with steam closed, completed the first chapter and then turned off the game and tried to run it in steam and it worked like a charm. but i'll let you know tomorrow if it works on the brain counter, i need some sleep and its 5am here so i'll let you know when i've woke up and played through chapter 3 again (for the 20th time) but yeah of course the dev needs to fix this, i just want to see if i can solve it temporarily while waiting for the update

i just booted up my computer and the saves are back. i'll get back to you if i get it to work

it doesnt matter if you get around the cloud save the brain counter is broken. i can launch the game if i reboot my computer and dont start steam and i got a different save but in that save i cant get more than 0 brains on chapter 3 and then when i start steam i get the old save again. ive tried a bunch of thing and i dont know how to work around the steam cloud when it's using the registry. but like i said it doesnt matter even if i could do it. the devs have to fix this, and i would also suggest that they make this game like all the other games out there, if you choose new game it overwrites your old save file completely not just starts your old save from the first chapter, i can do that from the chapter select myself (that is all games that doesnt have multiple save files)
