Game is causing entire internet connection to drop out

Not sure why or how but with this new patch for 7 days, sometimes it casus my entire internet to drop out. By that I mean I can't access the browser and my rounter says it's not connected to the internet when checked. However, I exit 7 days and everything is fine, router picks the modem back up and everybody can use the net again. It's not a everytime thing, but it's a huge problem. I have done many things to make sure it's 7 days causing it and now I'am sure that it is. I hope this is looked into soon.

not possible for a game to cause your router or modem to lose connection... Correlation does not imply causation... The fact that it doesn't happen every time you run the game just proves that it's not the game. I'd suggest calling your ISP or replace your router/modem. If your modem is more than 3 years old it's probable on its last leg. The capacitors in routers usually start going bad after 2-3 years.

I'm having the same issue. Everytime I exit out of 7dtd my internet drops and I must restart my computer to reconnect.

I just read about this in the known issues and tried launching without AntiCheat, this seems to have fixed the issue for me.

yeah sorry Hitman, you are talking out of your rectum. this is happening to me too and it doesn't happen on any other game i play online.

Just got back from work and downloaded the new patch, but it hasn't changed anything sadly. When I open 7 days and I'am at the main menu, it's fine, I can alt-tab and my browser still works and I have ping in mumble. Soon as I click "Connect to server", I alt tab and i can't load a web page, mumble says I have no ping, not a high ping but just no connection at all. I don't have to join a game for this to happen. I exit 7 days and 10 mins later my internet comes back and no problems at all.

@ Red Eagle, I thought of that last night, I did try to run without EAC and the same thing happens, I get to server browser and my internet drops out. I understand this sounds crazy, but my little sister is connected to the same router with her laptop, and the second I get to the server browser, she looses connection to the network as well. I've also tried validating my files through the steam thing, It also didn't help.

OK sorry for not answering your second question Eagle, SP seems to be fine, my internet seems to stay stable. Also my router and Modem are brand new, and i've switched them out to make sure it wasn't hardware, disabled antivirus, set my computer as DMZ and tried everything, but nothing works so far.

@Facesnatcher, do you possibly have a large number of favorite servers?

Try this, remove some of the favorites from your list by clicking the stars next to the servers names if you can get to it.

If not an alternative method to remove the favorites:
Start > run > regedit
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\The Fun Pimps\7 Days To Die
In the right pane find the entry that starts as:
"FavoriteServersList_"
Right-Click and select rename.
Change the name to "FavoriteServersListBackup"
Alternatively you could just delete the whole entry.

Can you get a copy of the output_log.txt:

First Exit the game or make sure the game is not running.
Start the game. Do NOT ALT+TAB.
Reproduce the problem.
Exit the game.
In the steam client.
Right Click 7 Days To Die and select properties
Click the Local Files Tab
Click the Browse local files button.
double-click the \7DaysToDie_Data\ folder
open output_log.txt
Copy all the contents (CTRL+A then CTRL+C)
paste the contents to http://pastebin.com

i was having the same problem as you FACE fixed it somehow cant remember but now everytime i play online with other people it backs me out of the server to the title screen with no errors just leaves the game

@Facesnatcher, unfortunately I don't see anything in your log that shows the cause. Hopefully a dev or soemone else will though.

I've had the same issue from time to time.

Can't refresh anything here on steam, just seems to time out.
Can't use internet browser, same thing just times out.
Even had the little yellow warning triangle appear on my internet connection to say no internet.
There's only been this and 1 other game that has done this to my internet. The other game was also an early access alpha.

I think if you spam the refresh button on the multiplayer list it stops showing servers and knocks out your internet.

I have the same probleme. My friends playing on a server and i cant join. I lose the internet connection but still can talk via teamspeak or steam.
