How to "delete config files and let steam rebuild them" for performance?

Once thing mentioned in the low FPS thread is that deleting config files and having them rebuilt seems to help a lot of people. How do you safely do this? (I just backed-up then deleted the "data/config" folder but that just stopped the game from launching)...

Gp to game in list then right click, delete & then reinstall. You can also go into steam & user file for saved games & delete them too if you want a clean install.

Go to where you have your Steam files and take this path-

Steam/steamapps/common/7 Days To Die/Data/

In that Data folder you will see a Config Folder. Delete that. When you validate through steam it will reinstall them.
