Animals seem very rare in A19
I am on day 18 in Alpha 19 and I have only seen 2 deer and only a handful of rabbits. I have seen and 3 bears and sometimes dire wolves and that is about it. Has anyone else noticed this?

I live in the snow biome...I killed 4 bears and 2 lions coming back to my base.

OP, I feel you. If I didn't find a certain POI I might have starved in my last save. I saw 2 direwolves and 1 deer in 21 days. While I did see chickens and rabbits they too seemed reduced in number. I never even did see a wild boar. I guess you could say I had the meat sweats but in reverse haha On top of that, I had abysmal luck finding farm plots to harvest to make seeds nevermind finding them in loot so my farming game was whack, too.

I have been getting lucky so far at nights when looting POI's. I have found 3 dire wolves and killed them for their meat and a few bears, and that is about it so far.

I do enough work around my base to attract unwanted attention. I have killed a few direwolves and a bear or two. Gives me bacon and eggs for days.

i think its more map and/or locations on maps. i've gotten the odd rare world during some patches where animals are extremely scarce yet other players have no issues on their maps while the vast majority of the time i've always ended up with more than i needed past the first few game days.

everything is easier to spot in snow biome so that's always a good place to hunt/gather outdoor stuff like bird nests, tree stumps and animals.

also, if you play 2 hour days i'd strongly recommend switching to 1 hour days and making the 7 day horde every 14 days instead.

how is that possible?? every game i play, it doesnt matter if im in snow or forest, there are animals everywhere. there are usually so many, that they bring my daily meat deliveries to wherever i am. if im in my base crafting they come knock on my doors. if im in a poi, some how every wolf and lion with a 1 km radius can hear me, and they go into hunting mode, and come gunning for me inside the poi. i am literally swimming in animals in a19.

This is what I seem to get too.

I think you might just be having bad luck. Also, it matters if you are using an old save. I see tons of chickens and rabbits in the forest, sometimes a deer or two but they are rare..and boars are super rare. Direwolves and wolves are out every night as well. The desert seems to have good game too...and the snow biome is crazy over-populated with meat....usually in the form of things that can take your face off. Wasteland biome seems to only have undead things, so I don't advise hunting there for meat. It is tons better then what it was. Used to be I could go days without seeing any wildlife...sometimes weeks.

Forgot to mention the burnt biome. I do most of my hunting here because there is no grass...easier to see. Rabbits and Chickens...occasional deer...and I don't ever remember seeing a wolf during the day. Watch out at night though...

Cool thanks. I will have to check out the snow biome.

I find walking really helps to see the animals. If I go around lik a sparts car I tend to see them just as they get spooked

I will say that I'm finding very few boars and deer in b180. Howeve, I've not yet traveled very far in this new world, so that could be the issue. The snow, however, lord god.... Thank goodness I built my base up high because I've already killed 3 bears, countless lions, and wolves, and I don't even try for the rabbits and chickens. Seriously... I really don't like being so near the snow, but that's how the RNG works, and I do love the sense of danger. I do NOT go out at night if I can help it.
