But that is what starting over means.
Basically what this would do is give it a rogue-like play style. You would be starting back at level one without anything you have collected but still retain the knowledge from the magazines.
Also what I was thinking, it would be a neat option or mod.
Just so I understand.
You want a setting that would retain experience level but revert your game stage to 1.
What about perks? Keep those too?
I just would want a setting where it would keep a record of all the books and magazines I read from a previous run.
Let's say I get a character 40 levels in and have read 16 of the cooking books. If I die the file is wiped and I lose everything except for the points I would have gotten from the cook books.
I see your point, but counterpoint: It would punish multiplayer teams if the base owner dies and all their shared resources and safe zones went poof.
Think Vampire Survivors when you can spend your coins on permanent upgrades for the next run. That is essentially what I am looking to get out of it.
TBH I really feel this would be more set for a single player experience.
