Blue loot bags de-spawns too fast
Compared with the yellow ones that last enough time the blu ones disappear before i have time to loot them.

They last like 4-6 hrs on a normal game, which means that by the time i finish the 7 day horde the bag are all almost gone.

On a normal game they last 20 minutes real life time. This is as intended.

Then why thee yellow ones last forever (more like an hour or more) the same for red ones.

Bags can take damage and be destroyed.

All three should be lasting 20 minutes. However, this is 20 minutes of time being in a loaded chunk- If you make a lootbag, immediately drive off into the sunset, and return an hour later, it likely still has somewhere around 19~ minutes of duration left to it even though an hour passed.

On horde night, though, you're sitting there the whole time keeping the bags loaded.

Nice, good to know. I knew they had a timer but at horde night this was bugging me thinking i cant head down now not taking them and missing the loot.

I've been playing 750+ hours and have never come across or seen a red bag drop after killing tons of zombies. Blue and yellow bags but never a red.

Blue and reds are a relatively recent adition as far as things go.. Circa A20, I think. Reds are extremely rare and also can only drop from the most dangerous zombie types(Like demolitionists), while yellows can drop from any zombie, and blues can drop from any large+ zombie.

I feel you, Bugging me aswell (playing mostly on a 2h real time cycle)
best thing you can do is build a set up that closes the entrance for zombies and loot quick, dump it in a drop chest then open the entrance and fight on. Rince and repeat about every 10-15 min realtime.

Forever lasting bags would over-tax the system limitations the devs are already struggling with. Unclaimed bags everywhere potentially that memory has to account for.

Same reason we no longer have lootable zombie corpes or gore blocks that zombies could climb over your fences with.

This whole game was ambitious from the start and I can only imagine what it would look like if unlimited CPU resources were available.

I think it's great that some people are too scared to jump down and snag loot bags during the horde event and so are losing them by giving into that fear. Seems like the game is doing its job...lol

If anything put them on a 10 minute timer so everything is gone by morning unless you take a risk and get down there and grab the loot!

Loot Bag Extra Duration mod: https://7daystodiemods.com/longer-loot-bags/
Changes duration from the crappy 5mins to a more healthy 30mins.

If you want longer then manually edit the addon's entityclasses.xml
Replace the 1800 in [@name='TimeStayAfterDeath']/@value">1800</set> with whatever you want.
Remember that the time is in seconds, so 1800 seconds = 30 minutes.
So setting it to 3600 would be 1 real-time hour.

All you need on horde night is a 2 block high wall, to run back and forth on. You can crouch down and grab the bag easily. I do it with a dozen burning zeds swinging at me. On occasion one will piggy back ride another and jump up on the wall, when you spend the 2 seconds stopped to loot.
