And you do? :) Might blow your mind to know they dig too, and some used to climb.
Fun fact : Zombies dont exist in real world.
Because zombies are a work for fiction they will therefore do whatever the one(s) writing the story that contains them says they can do.

In the real world rotting bodies produce a lot of gas, things full of gas are naturally buoyant and what is a zombie but a rotting body that can move?
In the case of a water landing, zombies are their own flotation device.

From a mechanical side of things, a zombie that tries to swim above the water is easier to headshot than one that walks below it.
It was way more dangerous when they simply walked across the bottom of lakes (since they don't need to breathe). For one, you couldn't see them coming until they were on top of you, and two, you couldn't shoot at them underwater. Three, they used to easily attack the pillars of water bases that way.

Making them swim was a massive massive nerf to the zombies. And I agree with OP, it should be reverted.

There’s this thing called “rigor mortis” that happens to bodies, where their muscles and joints “freeze” about an hour after death, and can last from 1-4 days, so based off of that, any freshly killed people would be completely useless as zombies for a bit. Not to mention rotting flesh and muscle aren’t exactly the most optimal for basic motor functions lol.

You could spend hours tearing apart all logic regarding zombies, because they make zero sense when real world logic is applied lol. So yeah, the zombies in game are being held together by some demonic forces that give them super strength.

It's a game. If you want realism, shut off your PC.
You're right, the real zombies are the ones who make threads like these.

Do you not know the Dev's zombies? They're structural engineers with acid claws that psychically know where you are at all times.
Pretty stupid discussion, I'd close this out of embarrassment tbh :mhpatchie: zombies are interpreted differently in all kinds of media simple answer to your question

I like Smetrix's def. of zombie's. They ARE demonic forces. In traditional lore, zombie's are raised from the dead by demonic forces after all.
It's kind of funny to see these debate's on "realism" of a "zombie" even though they're fictional construct's.
As for rigimortis...... I'd assume so long as the body continue's to move....it can't set in really. But, when I was dead for 1/2 hour.....I wasn't able to walk around to see if that's true or not, lol. (Also, 1/2 hr isn't long enough lol)

Well, I guess it depends, if motor function resumed immediately then maybe rigor mortis wouldn’t set in… but that’s where things get weird, because realistically, a zombie would have to be “alive” to work. So if they were “dead”, then maybe it would set in a little, slowing them down because the joints would start to freeze up.

I think my favorite depiction of zombie’s would be “the adults” from The Enemy book series, where basically everybody over 16 became something like a zombie, but they were still alive, they’d just completely lost their minds and the ability to feel pain, for the most part.

xDDD

If you want the best loser type of zombie like in The Walking Dead, well, you can go see other thing else...

If not, go learn how to mod yourself when something got you wrong... & by the way, it's easy to do it...

facts!!!
From the clues already given in the game, it is readily clear that these are not traditional zombies. In fact, it is likely that they aren't even technically dead.

Wait until the story and lore are fully implemented before complaining about it.
