Welcome to SteamVR for Linux
The current release of SteamVR for Linux is a development release. It is intended to allow developers to start creating SteamVR content for Linux platforms. Limited hardware support is provided, and pre-release drivers are required. Linux support is currently only available in the "beta" branch, make sure you are using SteamVR[beta] before reporting issues.

You can use the github issue tracker[github.com] for reporting bugs. This forum is available for discussions and questions about SteamVR on Linux.

HUGE thanks to all the dev's for their hard work in this great leap towards VR & Free and Open software development. You guys rock!
It's like a late christmas present, and just in time for my current vacation (just as I expected :D)! Finally after all the waiting and experimenting (Vrui etc) an official solution with actual Unity support. THANKS Valve, your're the best!

bought a vive this week and it works fine for multiple games/tools with the non-beta branch, but crashes with others. Is it still recommended to use the beta branch?
Will SteamVR for Linux officially get out of Beta now that Valve releases the Index with official Linux support? It's been two years.

Will we get Motion Smoothing? Desktop Theater Mode? The Video Player? Will we be able to switch between audio playback devices?

Will the devs reply to anything Linux related?
Are there any near-future plans to get SteamVR on Linux out of the current 'development release' state? I mean, it has been 4 years now since this was posted.
Is that the reason HL Alyx is listed as Windows-only despite have a native Linux port?
