[SOLVED] (unresponsive) SteamVR Tutorial
Hello,

I just set up my HTC Vive today. Everything seems to be working fine.
I have updated firmware for all the components, and I was able to run the Room Setup just fine.

When I run the SteamVR Tutorial, nothing occurs in my headset, and on the SteamVR hub, it is showing me "(unresponsive) SteamVR Tutorial"

I have tried looking for other solutions in the discussions, but I haven't found a fix yet. I tried uninstalling SteamVR, then deleting the SteamVR folder, rebooting my PC, and reinstalling SteamVR. I am still having the same issue.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me. ^ ^ Thank you!

Here is a screenshot of the error I am getting: http://postimg.org/image/ps25bue2j/

Edit: I just tried running a game, and it rendered the game on my monitor screen, but did not open in my headset.

I found this, also: https://steamcommunity.com/app/358040/discussions/0/350532536102598615/
This is the same issue I am having. They said the fix is to disable the integrated GPU, but I have my monitor plugged into my motherboard, so if I do that, I can not use my monitor.

jep the on board GPU is causing issues! Do you have only one slot on your graphic card?
Just use DVI f.e.

Make sure your monitor and your headset are both plugged into your gtx 1080.

I had exact same problem and litterally did evrything possible and every test? my ultimate decision was to format the entire computer and delete all partitions? a drastic deciosion as it was, my assumptions were correct something was installed wrong causiong the error. after the format everything is working as normal? i hate to suggest this but if you dont want to wait for steam tech support? this option worked for me howveer tedious it was, goodluck i know your fruystrations I was there?

I wanna add to here because I had the same problem but without an enabled integrated GPU, that the main monitor and the headset have to be on the *same card*, otherwise you get this unresponsive error. Info here helped me: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/4fp3m2/psa_for_people_with_two_graphics_cards/

Just got my Vive yesterday.

I am having this same problem. Games are unresponsive. When they are playing right I still get the: If I open a door to enter a new section or something as simple as equipping knives in Budget Cuts. The game starts to load kicking me out into the matrix dashboard thing, I sit there waiting for 5-10minutes then game loads back in. I ran the SteamVR test I scored inbetween high and ultra. Paraphrasing here, it basically said my system is more than capable with my score. (which I don't recall)

My hardware (laptop):
MSI GT80S 6QF
Intel Core i7-6920HQ
GTX 980 Desktop Class (Dual SLI) 8GB DDR5 (each)
1TB 7200RPM + 512G SSD (Super Raid)
32G Ram DDR4

I have no idea if my usb and monitor are connected to the same graphics card. I have 3 usb ports on my left, two on my right, HDMI in the back with a USB-C directly next to it (which I don't use) and of course this is a laptop so I have no idea what my monitor is connected to.

In the words of Warren Buffet, Billionaire, please explain this to me like you are describing it to a two year child. I'm new to things of this matter, never encountered this problem before.

Thank you.

I just wanted to add that {LDT} hmind's comment helped me out. I had dual monitors hooked up but for some reason that would affect The Lab and a couple other VR games since my second monitor was connected directly to the mother board and not the GPU. I just unhooked the monitor from the motherboard and everything was working fine again.
