Steam VR 2.0.8 killed my Index

After the update today, my Index will connect but it won't come out of sleep mode. The lights on the front go Green momentary then back to blue again. SteamVR shows its tracking. I tried a different cable, re-installed Steam VR and updated my video drivers. Nothing is working.

I have a meta quest 2. SteamVR 2.0.8 broke all my games and now nothing will launch, and if it does by some miracle launch I have 10 FPS.

Just as a follow up, I have a spare working Index and hooked that one up and its doing the exact same thing. This is definitely software related and started right after the 2.0.8 update. Index will not wake up when I put it on. I have generated a trouble ticket.

Uninstalling and reinstalling steam vr fixed it for me.

Same here, worked for my Quest 3. But make sure to also update your steam desktop app, as when I loaded SteamVR it said I needed to update the desktop app for full functionality.

This should be a workaround: Go to SteamVR in your library. Right click it and navigate to Properties>Betas and pick the Windows 7&8 version. Until they fix whatever happened, this is what I gotta do, too.

thanks for workaround, I have it applied by using Valve Index and it helps to use SteamVR until Steam is able to fix that issues with SteamVR 2.0

Same, another fun stuff, it recognizes mine as an Xbox Controller.
LMAO, and even better, it wont even aknowledge the controllers buttons, i can move and screenshot, but not play and launch anything unless its directly from desktop.

So as a follow up to my original post, it turns out when Steam updated SteamVR to 2.0.8, it triggered an interaction with my Samsung Ultrawide G9 monitor. Everything was fixed once I updated the firmware in my monitor.

I hadn't touched VR since just before this update, and when I booted up this week the dashboard was completely broken for me, constantly losing tracking and flashing grey screens whenever it was opened. Updating my mobo drivers and BIOS fixed it for me so would definitely try that if anyone's having issues.
