How is this better than Celtx
CeltX is pretty much the industry standard - and is free. So how is this an improvement on that?

It isn't these are my first thoughts exactly, copy and paste
If not Celtx, there's Final Draft as well. This doesn't seem to add much new stuff.
"Celtx is pretty much the industry standard" Thanks for making me spit coffee on my monitor. You and two other people in the world are aware of Celtx's existence and all of a sudden it's an "industry standard"? You must write comedy.

Actually it's more like me and a few hundred thousand people... (boy you don't sound like an idiot)
celtx is indeed industry standard, Dunwich Horror is either ignorant or has some agenda agaist celtx
Doing a quick google search. This software is a lot more affordable than Celtx and final draft. Maybe start with this until you sell your first script and then buy the good stuff.
To sell your first script you need to be peristant, be convincing, work hard, write, don't give up, listen and write, write, write. The software is not as important. As far as I know the important thing is how you sell it, not the program you use.

You weren't even drinking coffee at the time.

It's not more affordable than Celtx, because Celtx is free. What they're selling on the Celtx site is just a cloud service for collaboration, to use with the free application.

And yes, whoever will read your scripts doesn't know what software you used to write it with, and doesn't care. You know, 30 years ago they did it with typewriters and paper, and they still managed to write some pretty neat stuff… so go with what feels right. It's not like a one-time $30 is much worse than "free" either, especially in todays "software-as-a-service, buy now and keep paying forever" culture (see Adobe).

What software you use depends on what features you are looking and those are determined by how you write. If you have to make as many notes as you can before or while writing, then this software would be good for you. If you are a 'Pantser" like I am, then you just sit down and write scene after scene and eventually everything falls into place.

If I need notes, I turn to one of my many notebooks so I can quickly write down my ideas before they filter out of my head. Some people like to plot and plan before even starting, I like to envision each scene and let the characters define themselves instead of pre-defined rules I set out for them.

To each their own. I have used both Final Draft and Celtx, and I would use Celtx anyday over Final Draft. If I needed a ton of notes, I would probably buy this one as well.
I too recommend Celtx over Final Draft. Hell, I used Sophocles instead of Final Draft back when that was around and had support. However... can you track your hours on Steam and fantasize about getting trading cards one day with any of those? I rest my case.
