As of 25th of December, Badspot has officialy confirmed that Blockland is no longer in devolopment, and he is now taking up time on other projects. He has said that however, the servers will stay running for the community to enjoy, but it will be VERY rare for it to be updated

Badspot has not said a single word about that. At all. Not on the forums, not on his own site, not on the official BL site, not anywhere.
