Character is constantly moving to the left?
So whenever I try to play using an xbox one controller, the character is contantly moving to the left as though I am holdingt left on the analog stick. Developer, if you read this can you fix that?

Thank you very much to your feedback.

Your problem doesn't occur by my XboxOne controller.
I think the "drift problem" that your problem is often reported by a XboxOne controller.

When I set a dead zone of a stick, you may be able to correct.
But it wouldn't suit as the intermediary that a peculiar problem settles you.

Hmm, that's odd though, because I don't have that problem with any other application though. It's actually the Xbox One Elite controller and I'm on Windows 10, if that makes any difference.

I'll chime in and say this is happening to me as well. I'm kinda disappointed because this game looks cool but due to this bug I have only played it for about 30 minutes.

I feel like its unlikely that my controller is at fault - its only a few months old and is working flawlessly with every other game I play it with.

Hmm,

Can you calibrate xbox one controller?

# Below is the technique of 360 game pads, but I think it's cut with the Caribrate in the same way.

I will try calibration when I have a chance. If you have a chance, can you open device manager and see what driver you are using for your Xbox one controller?

I've read online of other players having issues with different games (Phantasy Star Online 2, Battlefront, and others)

I'm wondering if it's a driver related issue?

Ive also encountered it in Tinykeep. The character moves left, and the right trigger actually makes him move right!

I'm thinking its a driver related issue.

Thanks for the advice but even after trying to calibrate several times I'm still having the same problem.

It just seems like the game has a very narrow range for the dead zone on the left stick
mountainmohawk Dec 23, 2015 @ 6:45pm
Fortis, can you see what happens when you press the right trigger? For me, it moves the character right! This is the same problem that I encounter in Tiny Keep.
Anstapa Dec 23, 2015 @ 6:51pm
Yeah I just checked and it seems like the right trigger does move me right and left trigger to the left. I am assuming this isn't supposed to happen.

I've only gotten to level 4 at this point. This bug is making it impossible for me to not fall in the lava lol

I confirmed that this problem occurs by combination of a XboxOne controller and Windows10.
A driver of a XboxOne controller of Windows10 accessory is updated unnoticed, and the mapping which should be assigned to left and right in D-pad is assigned to RT by this driver.
It doesn't seem to occur by a "old" driver for Windows 7/8.1. (This old driver isn't distributed by a site of Microsoft official.)

This is common to Windows game by a Unity engine (and some other games), and seems to be the problem which occurs.
I wish that Microsoft settles this problem by a feedback of me and everyone.

I continue and investigate about this problem, but I think there isn't an official solution method I can do in the present.
And it's put up in a store page about this problem.

Thank you for all the information! I will continue my search for any solutions, and update if I find anything. In the mean time...come on Microsoft!

Thanks nanmo for the feedback

Hi @nanmo, I'm currenty having the same Xbox One issue in my own Unity 5.3 project, and I've figured out what's causing the problem.

An Xbox 360 controller's d-pad uses the 6th and 7th axis.
An Xbox One controller's d-pad uses the 7th and 8th axis.

The 6th axis always returns -1 when using an Xbox One controller, that's why characters move to the left.

I have no fix, but you could try one of these things:
- Make an option in the settings menu where players can choose their controller type (360, One, PSN)
- Make an option to disable the d-pad logic (because sticks work fine)
- OR Try a third-party asset for Unity which has a better controller implementation.

However! I have reported this bug to Unity. Hopefully they can fix it on their end. :)

Hi, everyone,

I have got a new Xbox One controller (blue) today.
And it's while I'm checking the operation of this controller.

I noticed this problem in TorqueL being corrected.
(This problem had occurred to several games and a game of many Unity engines.)

When the device manager is checked, it seems that a driver is renewed.
I think it was probably renewed by an Anniversary update.

I'd like to confirm that a problem was corrected and remove instructions of a store page.

If there is a player with the Windows10+XboxOne controller environment, please try.

I just tested it using my Xbox One controller on Windows 10. It works fine now! :D:
