Nope, bandit answers "no" on the other question.
But once you realize there's no way to know for certain which twin is which -- the answer "I don't really care, and one twin pays A LOT more" should come to you naturally.

I've sided with both on different playthroughs. It really comes down to which one you *want* to believe.

If you side with the tramp, you get a possibilety to get the padded armor complete.
Dont know why the first armor your get is the hardest to get complete.

I think I may know who who. Now the tramp mentions that his wife didnt regconize his brother taking his place. meaning that his brother has gone under his name " Sarino" . So when the bandits say that Onaris sent the bandit to attack Sarino. They actualy mean the new Sarino who is now the Merchant, who before taking the " Sarino" place was originaly know as "Onaris", but is now known as Sarino.

Also lets not forget that if Onaris(tramp) was to hire the bandits. he would need money. Which he dosent have, As well his Brother Sarino ( Merchant) would have mentioned being attacked by bandits to prove his point about his supposed "Evil brother". So all in all, it can be said without doubt, Sarino (Merchant) is the true Culprit.

that's what i assumed. But i can't believe that the tramp's wife wouldnt notice his twin had taken his place :). Maybe the wife did know :). I killed the tramp as there was no certainty and i would rather have the spell book.

I wonder if each brother counts as a different vendor.

Durgine; No they are one and the same vendor.

Here are the facts:
-There are two guys, the "merchant" and the "tramp"
-The tramp asked us to taunt the merchant
-The merchant asked bandits to kill the tramp
-The merchant asked us to kill the tramp

I can not see a point of a good guy asking us to say hello to the merchant other than to mentally destabilize him, implying that he is in fact, evil. Thats a pointless action only leading to another killing contract(which also happened) On the other hand i can see a good guy protecting his family, even by hiring killers. Not that this action is exactly a good one, but he has a valid reason. So the game thinks the "merchant" is the bad guy, judging by quest description, but i actually believe the merchant's story. And also he gives 60 ducats...

What palace?!

You guys are putting way too much thought into this. They are obviously the same guy, teleporting back and forth using powerful magic, and totally punking you.

In my first playthrough I sided with nobody, and just told the merchant to go kill his own brother.
When I finished, I was surprised that I didn't get the achievement for all places visited -- and only now that I'm playing a 2nd time do I realize that you get two more locations for siding with the tramp (the bandit camp and the praios temple). I'm not sure if that does the trick in terms of the achievement though..

If you talk to the begger he says that the merchant is a good fellow and that he visits the shrine to pray every day ...

Conclusion if the merchant is not the real Sarino, why does he still continue visiting the shrine? I think the tramp is the liar.
