Can't Run the Game (Error: -2005530516)
D3D.CreateDevice() Error: Please check that your graphics card meets the minimum requirements and that your drivers are up-to-date. If your graphics card has little memory, try switching your computer to a lower resolution. (Error: -2005530516)

Qosmio x70. GeForce 770M is plenty of video card to run this, so what gives?

Windows 7 or 8 or 8.1?

8.1

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the c++ redistributable.

Did it fix anything? This looks like more of a DirectX problem than a C++ problem, I'd try running the game in Windows 7 compatibility mode, and hope for the best.

Yeah, it's a D3D error, but lol I tried anything I could think of. I'll try Win 7 and report back.

Same exact error.

I found this somewhere:
After ~6 hours of reading about how people are trying to run these games on laptops with 32mb of video ram, I finally flicked enough switches randomly to solve the problem. If others have this issue (and it's common from what I can tell), do this:

Go to Nvidia control panel, manage 3D settings.
Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration defaults to Multiple Display.
Set it to Single Display performance mode.
Victory.

Damn. No joy, same error.
....does dxdiag say anything? Is it possible to downgrade to DirectX 9 or something?
I wish I could help more. This is an error with Game Maker itself because of DirectX, and I'm not sure what causes it. :|

If that doesn't work, try getting the latest video driver for your video card from here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers

Yeah, the drivers are up to date and I cannot use the drivers from the geforce site because of the wonky laptop dealio.

As far as manually selecting the graphics cards, things are the same when I manually select the NVIDIA card, but they throw a different error with the Intel card:

THIS is a good one! Try reinstalling the C++ redistributable 2012 in the vcredist directory, if it's not installed then install, if it is then repair.

I know you wrote that you did it, do it again. XD After that, try running the game as admin.
