BUY THIS GAME. +Review
So, I read a lot about this game prior to purchasing it during the steam sale yesterday. I was highly skeptical and thought I was most likely going to get ripped off.

Let me tell you how wrong I was.

This game is beautiful, Albeit has some graphical bugs here and there. But dear god, the enviornments, level design, characters, armor, customization, badass looking swords, and amazing looking spell effects (I especially love teleports animation).

The game is simple to grasp, and deep to master. Timing, Timing, Timing. Everything is timing, knowing your enviornment, and watching all of your flanks while fighting, you really do feel like your on a battlefrield, and you feel your power, and weaknesses constantly, which is fantastic.

The game is unfinished, but dear god is it still a hell of a lot of fun to play. The ability to change up your playstyle drastically with different sword, equipment, and magic choices make it always feel fresh each time you want to spice things up.

Friendly fire is your friend! And by that I mean it prevents the game from devolving into some kiddyspamfest where everyone rushes ino and blindly swings spray and pray style till everyone is dead.

That said, The lack of a functional leveling system, sloppy out of game UI, and 0 help understanding what skills, spells, weapons etc do. Can be a major turnoff for players. I recommend using ( http://kingdoms-rise.wikia.com/wiki/Kingdoms_Rise_Wiki ) to get a better understanding.

The game is fantastic. They need more developers, and they clearly need more funding. So buy this game. I bought both Chivalry and this game, expecting to enjoy chivalry hundreds of times more. I cannot express to you how mistaken I was.

This game feels like the Dark Souls PvP game we never had. If your the psycho in FPS's that runs around with a knife, this game is a godsend, it is your sanctuary, and it's just plain badass. One of the most interesting, and innovative games of the year. My only fear is that updates will come too slowly.

This game can be insanely satisfying if you take the time to try to learn how to play it. THIS GAME REWARDS SKILLFUL PLAY. And punishes stupidity.

Some Protips:

Dodge Rolling is your friend, learn to use it to get the %#&@ out of dodge when you fail a charged up strike.
Hold jump when near any ledge to climb up it, this includes falling and needing to grab onto something, or keeping it pressed down at the end of a jump so you can climb up the ledge you just barely missed.
Blocking is niegh Pointless, don't do it, unless your insanely confident you've got the next block, just counter swing.

Constructive Feedback.

Knowing the gametype before a match begins would be nice.
The chat windows duration of 3 seconds is far too short.
Blocking needs to be easier, and it needs to have a benefit "i.e. stifling the enemy target for a moment upon a successful block leaving them open for a counter"
Showing HP bars is a bad idea, the fact they're gone right now is fantastic. It forces people to walk in and play smart and cautious, instead of just looking at which one has the lowest HP and gunning for them.

Support the %#@& out of this game. It deserves it, you can tell the passion the devs had for it when they created it. I just hope to see the steam sale light a fire and get people to take notice to how great of a game it is, and re-ignite that passion.

Blocking works just fine as is, you have plenty of time to determine which way the enemy is going to hit you from. All you need is some practice using it. Trust me, once you learn it, it becomes even more of an adrenaline rush. It's honestly quick to learn if you dedicate a couple of matches to learning it, it will be frustrating, but worth it in the end. A tip with the blocking is using large movements at first with a slower sensitivity, then slowly you can start to speed up sensitivity and use smaller mouse movements as you get better control. Blocking takes some real mouse control. Even faster way to learn is to get a friend to atk you in a single direction until you can get it 5 in a row, and then switch it up to another direction.

Showing bars everyone is requesting is only for each person's personal use, so we know how much HP we have. We were never able to see other people's HP nor do I think we ever will. You can tell how low HP some is though by how bloody their armor is.

Other than all that it's nice to have a review from someone else who has actually played the game.

I will second that parrrying/blocking becomes insnaely effective and reliable. Keep in mind I didn't even attempt parrying for about a week, and wasn't comfortable for about a month. I wouldn't have considered myslef adept at it for almost 3-4 months(though I took some time off) and still don't consider myself an expert. If I wrote a review a week into, or maybe even a month, I would have given the same opinoin on blocking. Trust me though! parrying is your friend! Espeically when combined with parry dashing.
