Artifacts, ghosting and stuttering
I really like th is game so far, but I've been bothered a bit by a couple of tings.

Power lines and other stuff is super jagged, even with DLSS quality, and there is a lot of weird ghosting in motion.
There seems to be a lot of microstutter, especially in cities.

Hopefully there will be improvements? FH5 was super smooth and had a very clean image compared to this game, tho i guess more RT also means more image noise.

I noticed the same issues. Weird ghosting on the side mirrors when starting to go fast, also some weird ghosting under the back of the car. The microstutters in Tokyo city as well.
I played a lot with the settings and managed to find out what causes that weird side mirror ghosting as well as that weird ghosting underneath the back of the car.
IT'S the DLSS, no matter what QUALITY are you using, you''ll see that ghosting.
As for the microstuter in the city, I managed to find a good ballance of the RT reflections and RT global ilumination and now it runs smooth for me.
As far I as know there is gonna be a day ! patch so I wouldn't worry that much.
They need to fix some issues, especially with the DLSS and performance.
What are your PC specs?

I feel like the RT looks kinda bad on any setting but the highest. While the game looks really dull without RT. Horizon 5 looked superb without much RT (think the only RT support was car self reflections)
No artifacts for me on a 4070 Super; but stuttering does happen.

Ran the benchmark and I get 70 FPS there with no drops, but during the actual game, there are places where the stuttering is quite pronounced. This is with the "high settings with RT" profile; I just changed the resolution to 4K and turned down blur. The rest is stock profile

I see this too once you see you can’t unseen its very annoying, and I don’t want to play without dlss

Yeah, also the game looks very bad without FSR / DLSS
Override DLSS 4.0 with DLSS 4.5 using Nvidia App, that eliminates the ghosting and artifacts.

I'm using the latest models. But stuff like power lines are still very jagged, even at 4k.
What I've noticed is that the sky during sunrise/sunset in cockpit view looks absolutely terrible with DLSS on, it's got crazy artifacting going on and looks like the sky is in 8 bit color. It only happens in cockpit view.
Framegen creates some grain on headlights, but other than that works fine.

All AA methods are causing ghosting, but worst is DLAA imo, which creates copies of your car literally behind you when going fast.

DLSS with 0.5 sharpness looks best on my screen. Zero microstutters for me.

Remember that it is still early access and aside from some minor issues i think it is very polished game on pre-launch.

A lot of stuff might be fixed with day one patch and it will just get better overtime.

EDIT: Found out it was actually framegen causing most of the ghosting. Now i am running no framegen and only dlss quality.

I would not give them the benefit of blaming it on "early access" when its a premium priced 4 day early release, its not like we paid to be QA. Seems like people have a lot of different experiences, i do at least have a lot of microstutter and some regular stutters which takes away the fun, seems to maybe be some issue with x3d processors. My GPU utilization is pretty low

I am running 5090 with 9800X3D and everything works perfectly on my system. Few artifacts while using upscalers and stuff, that are unfortunately nature of the technology.

I had stuttering present during my first 10 minutes of gameplay, probably due to world loading and shader compiler.

Its not perfect, but i feel like this is the most optimized game in recent time and probably will be much better with day one patch

Probably a stupid question, but did you update Nvidia drivers before playing? Or is your framerate maybe locked due to vsync or something. It is just weird that you have low gpu utilization.
I fixed the ghosting ( it was terrible on the miata with the antena ) nvidia app > graphic global settings > DLSS models > model M -> you need to restart the game for it to change, after that no more ghosting

also disabling DLSS and going for TAA only fixed the ghosting aswell

Thx for the feedback. I ended up just refunding because my entire early access time went to just trying to fix lag etc. Gonna rebuy after some patches. I'm using model K at 1440p, and model M at 4k
Thats TAA for you, wish we had FXAA or SMAA
My opinion: Day 1 patch is no excuse. if they gonna let us play, deliver a finished product.
at the very very least, Eventlab is not making stuff disappear this time. but that doesn't save the game from the other big issues. (Microstutters especially, given i got a 4070 and 48GB of RAM, wich should be more than enough). IMO a game should be reviewed at its rawest form, from the disc.
