Please help I dont wanna refund this game i havent even played it yet but im going to have to if i cant figure this out. Ive already tried multiple things that other people are saying worked for them , im posting here and in the discord to try and get a solution before i just return the game.

Off the top of my head
- Update graphics drivers
- Run windows update. There may be direct x updates that haven't installed.

There's also a more involved bit where you restart in safe mode, use a program to completely uninstall old graphics drivers, and then reinstall newest ones.

You could also try the compatibility troubleshooter on the game executable and setting it to run as administrator. Verify integrity of game files. You probably tried all this but it's all I've got.

i am also having this problem when i try and launch the game, i have verified integrity of game files .my system is up to spec per requirements and running dxdiag everything looks ok?

If you're not on Windows 10 or 11, or you have a really old graphics card, the latest DirectX you can have (OS)/run (Card) is 11. I doubt this will work for this game, but you could try adding a -dx11 argument to the game launch to attempt to force it to launch in DX 11. If you are on 10/11 and seeing this error, the only rational conclusion I can come to is that your OS is borked or your Graphics card does not support DX 12. If it's the first, you'll have to run a repair installation. Try other solutions above first, as OS repair is an extreme step. This game is really cutting-edge and requires a pretty new/beefy system, may be your only option sadly.

Edit: The main reason why games have a Minimum requirement of "Windows 10" is because of DX 12, usually...

This error is due to a Graphics Card Driver issue. If you have an NVIDIA card and you are using the Nvidia control panel, you need to switch to the Nvidia App. You must be running the current 522.22 Driver, downloaded using the Nvidia App. For some reason if you install the 522.22 using Nvidia control panel it will tell you the driver was installed, but in fact it is not. Download Nvidia App and redownload and install the driver and that should work.
