Crystal Dynamics finally can see what the fans really wanted.
I hope in future projects they will lean more towards the classic Lara Croft and bring her to life with maybe a new adventure without the reboot daddy issues nonsense and bring back her old classic moves and strong personality. CD got a big chance to change there direction now that the re-mastered are doing great.

Talk for yourself pal. I really enjoyed those games. They're going to age a lot better than this trilogy will.

They are actually planning to unify all the Laras (classic, LAU, survivor) in one single version thus proving all versions can co-exist. I mean, there's public for every itineration and even Angel of Darkness has it fans.

Tomb Raider (2013) being bad is a meme and I'd dare to say it helped in bringing more fans into the franchise. Although what they did with Rise of the Tomb Raider... Damn, that storyline was SO bad lol.

Yes so much this , the crystal dynamics games sucked so hard terrible terrible games... babified controls, babified plot, babified level design, zero exploration. its just overall terrible as a tomb raider game.

True.

You know the reason why they changed up the formula? Because everyone complained that Tomb Raider games didn't evolve and each entry was too similar to the last (which was already criticized in TR3). Now the fans want to have this milked-dry formula continued rather than new ideas? Makes perfect sense...

Can't fix what is already perfect.

If they're really doing great remains to be seen. I still think it's a niche game. When you take a look at the stats at Steamspy or elsewhere, the sold copies on Steam so far vary between 50.000 and 100.000 copies. That's not much really, compared to AAA games like the modern Tomb Raiders. You have to consider that we are not the intended target audience for nowadays games. Just take a look at what's popular these days, and you can see that there is a vast difference to these games, for example. People want gaphics demos these days. Graphics are the most important things, everything else is secondary. Especially if I take a look at how most games play these days. Completely boring and undemanding.

I'd be really happy if they also remastered Tomb Raider 4 and 5, but, it will still be niche. And, I don't really have much hope that this will become better. Games are dumbed down for a reason: The audience has dumbed down. If people value shiny graphics more than gameplay these days, then it says loads about them. They obviously value a shiny surface more than the content in it.

Please. Nobody was interested in Shadow. Or any of the games after they were burned by the first reboot.
While the classics still reigned.

obviously cause it's a "REMSATERED" game, you don't expect AAA type sales on a remastered game, let alone Crystal Dynamics did not promote it well, I think 100K is great for a remaster though.
I just hope they understand what makes it great for OG fans and modernize it well instead of rewriting the plot and characters again and again....
It's only a matter of time until people start to realize how boring today's games and how focused it is on graphics alone, look at how terribly optimized and uninspired nowadays games, and people know that, so it's only a matter of time for companies to focus more on gameplay and story than graphics and agenda

There were like zero promotion in fact crystal dynamics tries "maybe succeeds" to sabotage the games with their message which was not even needed in the first place.

I doubt it. There is a reason why they do the games like that.

And, take a look at some of the posts on these forums. People wonder about the point of this, and criticize that the graphics are too bad, that it's all blocky, or that the levels are too dark.

It's just a different audience these days. They care about gaphics, graphics and graphics, and not much else. They also want to play movies, where the first thing you see is a 15 minutes cut scene. They just don't care about gameplay anymore.

With the super awkward trigger warning at the beginning of the game I HIGHLY doubt they want to make fun Tomb Raider games again. Still, this remaster is phenomenal. It's just sad that we live in a world where people are borderline insane and actually think anything in this game is offensive to anyone.

Ah i am not as sure, i had a hard start geting into the first one, as it starts with Quick Time Events and Lara acting as expected for young Adult Movie Stuff.

I am half into the second one and the Games are fun.
But they are Childs of its Time and made very different.

You will have People get turned off by this as some are turned off by the Tank Controls.

What i like about the old ones more, they have their Focus on exploring the Level and overcome its puzzling Nature, being with less graphical Power very atmospheric.
The new ones are way more cinematic.

Indi Games nowadays have such a succsess because they are closer to such Games of the Past.

I guess you will having both of the Tomb Raider Lines have Fans in the Future.
