Only 720p is this a joke?
Gamersgate version is unlocked and according to the ppl who got the game from there, there are no PC options at all not even the Resolution can be changed its locked at 720p.

Yep, framerate is good but the resolution is locked at 1280x720. I checked the .ini files and there are no resolution options...

I'm starting to regret i bought it...i really hope they'll fix it (or the modder do)
But this might explain why rising games isn't showing a lot of screenshots or video...
that is a stupid move if i may.

Do Japanese developers not understand that higher resolution is one of the main points of PC gaming?

Dark Souls had no excuse neither does this.

it's worrying that many developers seem out-of-touch with what PC users expect from ports, this has been going on for a very long time, sadly.

but I don't think it's fair to call it a "Dark Souls quality port", unless the controls are horrendous (anybody have any more news about it?)

Not stupid, but smart (in dirty way of trick potential buyers)

Wow, I'm glad I didn't put any money down on this, I'll stick with my trusty 360 copy.

(The game will still be amazing so if this is the only version you can get your hands on I'd recommend it)

Well, someone will probably release a patch to fix that, I hope. But even at 720p Deadly Premonition will still be the best game on Steam.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but despite the locked resolution, isn't the PC version still the superior version thanks to the unlocked frame-rate and all the additional content that has been added to the Director's Cut?

Let me tell you a little secret - Japanese developers mostly spat on PC gaming.

Yup. And it's about time people realised what a PORT actually is.

A port implies that it is the same version as the original. If it functions at least as well as the system it was ported from, it is successful. Obviously a full blown PC version (with all the options that entails) is preferable, but for a devs first porting job this will obviously be the best version of the game available, if that's not good enough for you then by all means don't buy it. It's sad that people won't pay attention because it doesn't nativley render at whatever resolution they are running, it's crazy.

I guess it is, but when I purchased the PC version I was looking for both framerate and proper 1080p resolution to match my display native res. Some AA would have been nice too.
It's not really one of the best looking games out there and upscaling won't do it any better.

@OMEGAlomaniac

Is options like unlocked framerate and resolution on PC too much to ask? I'm sorry I have standards.
