RESOLVED - No way to play

No way to play with this mess error : "error disk writing", in french "erreur d'écriture sur le disque". I deleted the game, clean my pc, instal again. No way. And the game seems to not success in downloading the latest few Mo of the game (patch). Anyone have a solution plz ?

My antivirus says there is a a malware virus.

Looks like the latest version of the Steam DRM wrapper code is being flagged by some virus scanners as a generic trojan.

Take a look at this, this is the file I uploaded to Steam for version 1.33b, with 0 problems found:

You'll probably need to set your virus scanners to ignore anything in the steamapps folder to get around this in the meantime, until these few scanners figure out that this is normal and safe. Steam of course always scans all builds for viruses before users can download them, so your Steam games should always be safe and don't need extra hyper-active virus scanners flagging games.

In the meantime, the previous build with an older wrapper didn't get flagged nearly as much (only 2/55 scanners) so you could try switching to that build. Just right-click on Volgarr in your Library, click Properties, go to the Betas tab, and select "Previous version" from the drop-down menu. Then let it download and see if that works.

If you are concerned about the latest Steam DRM wrapper being flagged by your virus scanner, or can't get the game to install properly no matter what, you may want to submit a troubleshooting ticket directly to Steam Support ( https://support.steampowered.com/ ). Unfortunately installation is all handled by Steam, I have no control over this kind of error and no way to help directly.

Thank you for your answer, indeed my virus scanner is Bitdefender, and it's one of those who says that il might have a generic trojan.
I apply what you've said : ignore steam apps folder in my virus scanner ... and now it's working :)

The pb stay here. I made an exception in Bitdefender (hope I success the manipulation). But I don't success to download the game. Downloading begins, then stops, then restarts, then stops. Again and again.

I stoped Bitdefender and the pb stayed. This is the error message I have, in french to give you exactly the good message : "Erreur d'écriture sur le disque". So I can't completely download it. This seems not to be du to Bitdefender.

Try the Previous Version thing I mentioned in my earlier post, see if that works.

I shut off my Bitdefender, tried with the previous version (1.33) and the pb stays : downloading stops at 120 mo and I have an error message.

I'm sorry but I have no further suggestions, the download and installation process is all handled by Steam. It sounds like you will need to submit a troubleshooting ticket to Steam support https://support.steampowered.com/ :(

Hey Tohma, does version 1.33c work for you? Looks like I got lucky this time and BitDefender isn't flagging this version. Or did you get any help from Steam Support?

Thx, allright now. I didn't ask to Steam any help because not time for now, but yes this update made a good job and the game is working well now. Thx a lot :)
