Small Editor + XML update (Dec 9th 2014)
Hey Gang,

A small update went out tonight for Soundodger+. It allows level creators a bit more flexibility when personalizing their levels. Some of this stuff is a bit advanced if you're not familiar, but I'm sure there's an audience who will make good use of it. Changes below!

Convert to Hearts
In the Editor, select any bullet marker(s) you want to turn into a Heart bullet and press Ctrl+H. This is not undoable. The Marker Deck will show none of the 4 types selected, and filtering out all bullet types from view will keep the Heart bullet markers visible.

Custom Audio Preview
Load/create a level in the Editor. Press Ctrl+P to bring up the Audio Preview window. Here you can set a % of the song where the preview happens (heard at Song Selection screen). The % is the midpoint of a 10s preview, so 50% means the song starts 5s before the midpoint and ends 5s after. If your % causes the preview to take place before/after the song's boundaries, it'll automatically adjust the % to be valid. (And if you change the audioPreview value in the XML to something like "105", you'll hear nothing at the Song Selection screen, if that interests you)

Custom Subtitles
XML Only. Set the "subtitle" to any text you want (no need to follow the examples below). Please save your file first to automatically add subtitle="" to the XML and then edit the empty quote. Try to keep it short, as it'll get cut off pretty quickly. For reference, the subtitles from the game are:
"[4 spaces]-advanced-"
"[8 spaces]-heart-"
(I can't display consecutive spaces here, so this'll have to do. The spaces help offset the text from the artist name)

Custom Difficulty
XML Only. Set the "difficulty" parameter to any value from 1 to 100. Yes, 100. Once you go past 25, it'll start making new rows, with 25 in each. I don't see the need for a difficulty to go past 10 or so, but I figured you might have some fun with how hard you think a level can be.

Enjoy!

Cool!

When you mention subtitles, these are during the selection screen also? or ....?

Yup, subtitles are only visible on the Song Selection screen. Players have told me they have multiple versions of the same song, so the subtitles will allow them to call them out easier. But of course you can use them any way you want.
What does XML mean? I've wanted to change the difficulty for auto-regen mode if that's what it means.

There's no way to change the difficulty of a level in Auto-Gen Mode. The song itself dictates how easy or hard the level is. That way anyone can take the same song and play the same level.

XML is the type of file that is created when you make a custom level using the Editor. It's basically a fancy text file that holds all the information for how a level should play out. You're able to edit this file using a text editor and change additional settings not found in the game's Editor.
