If this is as fun as Surgeon Simulator, I would very much enjoy a Linux version :)

Unfortunately, the Engine which Viscera Cleanup Detail runs on(The Unreal Development Kit) does not support Linux systems, therefore it is currently impossible for us, sorry. : |

If it runs on Unreal Engine 3, then in the future you could get Ryan "Icculus" Gordon to port Viscera to Linux. He is a prominent Linux game porter, and has ported UE3 titles such as Dungeon Defenders and Sanctum 2 to Linux (he is currently porting the Goat Simulator to Linux). Here is his main website: http://icculus.org/

You may also get in contact with him through his twitter: https://twitter.com/icculus

I understand Viscera is still in development, but I hope in the future you guys will be open to the idea of bringing it to Linux. I enjoy Viscera Cleanup Detail greatly, and would love it to be Linux Native :)
+1, if if's a reasonable thing for you to do; don't go to any heroic efforts or anything, but it would be nice, and I would very probably buy it. I saw a friend of mine playing this game, and was a little sad that I would have to buy Windows/wrestle with WINE to play it. Not that I have any shortage of games to play. :)

That's pretty much my opinion on this too. I would love to see VCD get a Linux port and it's extremely likely I would buy it since I seem to pretty much buy up any halfway decent Linux games on Steam. But it's also not the end of the world if it never happens or anything. In fact, in a weird depressing way, it would actually make me kind of happy since I wouldn't feel the urge to spend any more of my money. :dude:
All these clean up games are hilarious, just came across the santa one in a video from the Mackscorner channel on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQH1soHpufI Which made me want to seek out your games. It would really rock if you had these ported to Linux, I would definitely pick them up then.

I think I should point out that a couple of 2K Games... games... games by 2K Games, have been making a pretty big splash in the Linux community with their ports of Civilization V and X-COM: Enemy Unknown. What's interesting to note is X-COM is a game that runs on the Unreal Engine. If they could port X-COM to Linux then perhaps porting VCD isn't as far fetched as it was once thought?
Purchased this game... primarily for support of a port to Linux. Would love to see a port to Linux happen before that partially eaten fruit company. I understand the requirements of what a port would look like, but still hopeful. I would even support porting with embedded wine a la Eve Online did.

It's not far-fetched at all... assuming you buy a license for Unreal Engine 4 (and the production contract that comes with it). As previously stated, though, these devs are operating under the Unreal Development Kit which is more affordable, but also more restricted... both in what they (the devs) can do, and the platforms it supports.

So, it's *possible* to create a VCD that would run on Linux / Unix... but would probably require recoding the game under Unreal Engine 4, which itself would require a reinvestment of profits & a new contract. I'm not 100% sure if the UDK and UE4 have the same "% off the top" stipulation... so in that case they'd double their paperwork having to sort how many copies were sold for the UDK and UE4 versions in order to calculate how much they owe to Unreal.

I'm not saying it's an unworthy goal... just that I don't see it as being likely given the current state of development.
It sure would be nice to get a Linux port though. :asciiterror:
Will definitely buy if Viscera Cleanup Details is ported to Linux.
