More likely that those people cheated it. I have done the pirate plague scenario many times for example and yet the achievement never completes.

I would also say that they cheated the achievement, because % of players, who have it, don't say anything about the difficulty about getting an achievement ... :x
Also your answer , i'm looking at you dev, seems like, "we saw people, who have it, so it has to be working", because you are too lazy for looking it up.
If that isn't the case, you should atleast give some hints about what to do for the achievement, because it seems kinda strange that we haven't figured out how to get the achievement for 3 months now ...

I understand your frustration but also want to assure you I've asked a programmer to go over these achievements and it has been done. The game has a lot of users so 0.2/3% is a fair number of people.

Tip for Film Fanatic Achievement:

Most people seem to be focussed on matching how your disease starts to the way the Simian Flu starts in the films. However, you also need to think about how the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes film ends...

Ok, so if we go by what the tooptip of the achievement says "recreate the setting of the film" firstly it's easy to know where to begin which is the USA of course but how it ends is the tricky and confusing part. I've heard stories somewhere that you need to have more intelligent Apes than Humans, but also have the cure up to the 100% mark while only have a certain amount of Humans left in the world because what happens in the film is The Simian Flu appears to have disappeared from the world and only a pocket full of Humans are left. However I'm not 100% if this is actually correct and if it were correct, how many Humans do you need to survive before getting the cure rate to 100%?

Doesn´t matter, watching the movie wont´t give ya the decisive hint anyway.


I just got the achievement today.

First, collect lots of DNA points with Ape colonies. ( I had about 600 points...)

Let the cure research progress reach 97% (Do not let it reach 100% at this point or the achievement will be busted)

Wipe out humans with deadly symptoms until there are about 10 millions left.

Then devolve all symptoms.

After this, the cure progress should jump to 100% after a short time.

Immediately evolve deadly symptoms again and continue the killing process.

The achievement unlocked after a short time.


Sorry that I cannot deliver more precise data, since I can´t replay it to verify the parameters.

But you have to start in USA , right?

Dunno if it´s relevant, but I had an Ape colony in the region of the initial research center. (San Francisco area ...)
