30 FPS UNLOCK TO 60FPS (this worked for me)
I founded a fix for set the lock to 60fps, it's easy, all you need is a hex editor:
Optional 60FPS Fix
You need to Hex & INI edit to break the 30FPS Limit.

Go to --> ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Disney Epic Mickey 2\DEM2.exe
Look for F0 C1 00 00 F0 41 00 00 B4 and change it to F0 C1 00 00 F0 42 00 00 B4

now go to ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Disney Epic Mickey 2\ConfigFiles.ini
look for LockedFrameRate and LockedFrameRatePAL - change both to 60

Enjoy this awesome game in 60FPS!

Also, to fix the cursor speed when in 60FPS, find this in the ConfigFiles.ini:

[CursorControl]
PadControlTypeDefault = 0
PadControlTypeOne=0
PadControlTypeTwo=2
PushStrengthStickMultiply=true
PushStrengthExponent=2.0
MinPushStrength=0.5
MaxPushStrength=1.8
PushStrengthDefault=38

and replace with this:

Worth noting that this 60FPS hack still stops Oswald from doing the correct action in the first room of the game, so probably in some other places as well.

Is there a way to apply this way to epic mickey 1 on dolphin emulator? I tried to extract the ISO with WiiBaFu and found in the config file an fps lock.
I changed the value from 30 to 60 fps but the game runs now in slow motion.

argh... manual hex-editing doesn't work anymore: Error 51 on launch with the modified DEM2.exe! There must be a checksum check

FIX (2021):
Download from pcgamingwiki both 'Epic Mickey 2 60fps Fix' and the dinput8.dll fix mentioned in the 'Crashing at launch' section (it fixes 4+ cores crash on startup with the patched exe). Launch the game through Steam, not directly from DEM2.exe.
I can finally play this game at 60fps in September 2021!

Known issues when running at 60fps I've seen:
1. you can't pass 2nd level balcony with Oswald if you don't modify ConfigFiles.ini as follows:
[DefaultAbilities_Toss] Height=7.5
2. -READ TO THE END PLEASE- if you see physics going crazy (can't jump over a platform, characters auto-move pushed by invisible forces, you can't climb some steps...) press Pause/Menu button and return to game to fix physics. I've not been able to find something in the ini to workaround this problem when running at 60fps. It is caused by incorrect LockedFrameRate and LockedFrameRatePAL values: you have to set them exactly at your ACTUAL FPS, so if the game is actually running at 120fps for you (as in my case with a 144Hz g-sync display), you must set those ini settings to "120.0"! Use "60.0" after the patched exe only if your screen is actually running at 60fps. This way, with correct fps set, physics will be fine and you can ignore this 2nd warning!

🪲 Still one bug left to fix in the ini: Mickey sometimes can't climb up small steps (f.e. onto a sidewalk) and moves in slowmotion trying...

🪲 Another bug found: touching green slime puddles can stuck characters in a damage-loop (too fast rate for the animations when in 60/120fps mode. Works as expected only at 30fps)

Searching for collaborators to fix the remaining 60/120fps issues left, through the INI (there are a lot of options to blind-tweak)

After 1-2 days spent trying to fix the remaining issues caused by the 60/120fps hack, I can conclude they can't be fixed through INI.

So be warned ⚠: playing at 60/120fps will break some animation timings causing things like Mickey not bouncing back out of puddles (stuck to death in a fast damage loop) and other strange things like inability to climb up some steps you can normally do at 30fps. :steamsad:

It could be easily converted to 60fps from Disney adjusting some internal animations timing if they wanted.

You didn't read the whole thread: even if you patch it for 60fps (and yes, there is a working method through INI...) it will break the game in some places, where fps are tied to the animation timings (read comment #10).

Only Disney can fix it properly for 60fps, fixing also those 3-4 broken mechanics when forced to 60fps.
