First off, ZP is obviously hung up on the game not being a faithful portrayal of the novel Journey to the West. Which I never even knew the game was based on.
Also, there's a lot of people getting all politically correct about the so-called slavery issues in this game. IMO, there aren't any.
Many of the things ZP points out are indeed true, but most are very minor issues and annoyances that don't make the game "stupid" or "boring" as you put it.
The gameplay, art direction, characters and story are all well done imo. Yes, both the platforming and the combat are not very difficult. This game is not DMC4 or God of War. It's more comparable to Jack & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank, but slightly more mature. I think it achieves what it sets out to do well and I ranked the console version 8 out of 10 when I played it. The PC port I hear isn't perfect, but with some tweaking it should be playable just fine (with a gamepad probably).
Edit: Now I'm wondering why I'm even responding to a hater. I just wasted my time :(

Somehow i doubt you ever played the game. Otherwise you wouldn't call the story and the characters boring.
This.
The game has some technical flaws, but story and interesting characters certainly aren't the problem. The game is VERY well written and acted, and the story turns out to be very touching.
It's totally worth going through, especially for $20.
This game is amazing... Outstanding graphics, outstanding voice acting and a very artistic and touching storyline.
It's true, however, when it is said that the gameplay is quite simple, compared to Devil May Cry and the like. Well, since i care most for the art, that aspect did not push me back from playing it.
Also, i have it on a console. One of the "best games no one played", sadly :(
He made a thread about it because some people who havent bought the game might be interested to see why some people dont like it...not sure if that ever crossed your mind...
