Patrol script ? something like PAM

Hello,

I would like to know if someone knows a script or a mod on the Workshope that could make a ship orbit or patrol another one. I mostly play solo and i would love to have a few drones / ships hover my station and defend it.

If possible it would dock when damaged or when fuel / munition is going low. PAM have something like this (for refuel). ARMS did but doesn't really work anymore.

Do people know if something like this exists ?

If there is that isn't super complicated to set up with like a dozen cameras and sensors, I'd love to hear it myself.

Unfortuantely anything which relies upon the autopilot functionality provided by the API is going to be inherently unreliable.

Most of the scripts I've seen determine a waypoint relative to the target vessel then using the autopilot's functionality instruct the patroling vessel to fly to that waypoint. This was how the Argentavis script worked. By continuously running this script one gets the appearance that the drone is following the target vessel while it is moving.

The autopilot function has been problematic ever since its introduction. Keen even removed their workshop demonstration item. So you can assume even they concluded that does not work reliably enough to put their name on it.

Well. PAM works like this just fine. Rdav also but it's too complicated. Basicly something that records a patch would just work. If something like this doesn't exist i think i'm gonna do C# tomorrow :)

Yes exactly. I think i'm going to take a look at how to do it myself. I asked the author and he gave me some clues as to how to do at least the storage.

I already did the missing ammo script. Need to do the fuel. So i won't be abble to make it dock because that's i think a lot more difficult.

I thought it would exist already because there are a lot of good SE scripters out there.
