The easiest character to play is definitely pre-patch The Baz. You can get extremely high ranks just by mashing Kick until they come close, then flying across the screen. This strategy shouldn't work as well anymore now. Dive is also very easy to learn.
Using Dive's skills and controlling the space is a tough thing to master. People under estimate him. He is a solid divekicker. Kick on the other hand, is very easy.
Hardest: Kenny
Easiest would be Kick. Simple special moves, simple dive and kick arc, and simply top tier with his speed, kickfactor, skills, everything rolled into one. So easy to learn him and jump right into the fight, since you don't really have to worry about counterpicks and can just take Kick with a Kick gem and play to win. As long as you are quick to learn how other characters work, Kick is probably the best 'intro' character that can stick with you to the end.
Honorable mention for hard goes to Uncle Sensei for button mashing the switches. Tires the fingers/hands/wrists out really fast because of all the rapid split second switching that needs to be done sometimes. Not too hard to master him, but you will be hitting yourself or cursing out the keyboard/controller when you do or don't switch when you did or didn't want to. Or super jump by accident because you're so used to mashing the buttons.
Honorable mention for easy goes to Mr. N, because he's easy to pick up on how to play after losing to a good Mr. N player once(Or a few times, depending on how fast you can learn). Same can be said for watching a good Mr. N player once(Or a few times). Now, while that's HOW, it's not going to teach someone the finer tined reaction times or angles. Still, Mr. N is another easy character to play, but it's best to get crushed by a good Mr N FIRST to see how he plays.
as for the hardest, I would honestly say s.kill would be high because he has to teleport twice before he can even make a kick. the baz is also pretty tricky to play even with his long range full screen demolisher. it can be tricky to learn exactly when to use it. wait too long, and you will be counter-kicked, too early and you will fall short. I have been kicked out of it after the latest patch.
