I am running 0.1.78 and have not had this problem.
I was running 0.1.74. I tried 0.1.79 and 0.1.73 as well. All of them had the same issue

Unfortunately, this means the mod you're trying to change it's handling data is Heavily Encrypted Model. Which makes impossible to change handling by user's taste individually, as .kn5 (model data) is heavily encrypted.
I'm sorry to say, but your choices are use original data.acd made by it's modders or throw those garbage mod into trash bin.
There are specific types of encryption however...
・Heavily Encrypted - Car model is encrypted. This model encryption is tied with data.acd. So, changing data.acd will causes .kn5 data can't be decrypted. Even something like changing tire models or pit time values are impossible. This move is only done by modders who are being so toxic, immature, arrogant and insecure. Also who can't understand of the idea of modding.
・Softly Encrypted - Car model is encrypted. But you can still change it's handling data. This is commonly done by RSS, VRC or MNBA mods. Understandable move, as long as car model data is done properly, then it's fine to me.
In fact, 100% of heavily encrypted mods are trashes no matter what. Even some heavily encrypted mods, which are praised like a god by AC community, such as 22B, has bunch of flaws (such as missing data, wrong pit time or very faulty tire models) and modder themselves refusing to fix it, because they're so arrogant and they thinks other people are nothing but trashes. But that's a different story...
Anyway, whoever modders who heavily encrypts their mods, they can go **** themselves.
Edit: more appropriate term.
It's a bit of a hitch to get working, but you can "clone" the car you are working on, change a bunch of stuff. It is pretty cool.

It was updated recently and btw the old car tuner always bring me an error ;)
But if you kn5 model is encrypted no luck here!
So true. I did my tuner in a first time for myself trying to correct cars with completly wrong physics for my personal usage, heavily encrypted models are a pain in the a... but as you said most of the time praised by community but completly flawed what a shame!
I guess it’s true cause I wanted to repair gearbox in bmw 330i mod I found cause it was h shifter 8 gears with auto clutch. And it that ♥♥♥♥ didn’t work. So I wanted to use 550d mod I had and swap this 330i engine into it but also it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ encrypted. Anyway that lci model had poorly done pre lci interior so it doesn’t look way worse with these broken textures.
