I recentaly got to open waters and I am lost where should I go now

Just explore around, and check your map often to remember where you've been.

yes but I keep getting K O ed and losing progress I am currently in the lush jungle

I think there's something else you can do before the lush jungle but I can't remember exactly what.

does it have to do with beast form?

Once your reach Open waters you have 2 options on where to go, you can either go up to the Kelp forrest which is where you went or you can go right to City of Mithralas. Of the two I think the city is a little bit easier.

Ah, Mithralas. I remember going to the forest, feeling a bit intimidated, then searching more and eventually going...there I suppose. I remember the city as being an early-mid-game location so that sounds right.

So now I have gained vine form or whatever any hints on where to go next I hope it is not the abyss

If you have beast form head up to the Veil, if you don't head right to city of mithralas.

General path of progress:
Home waters > Energy Form > Open Waters
From Open Waters, either East to Mithalas > Beast Form (easier), or Up to Kelp Forest > Plant Form. Either way, get both, then use beast form to go up to the Veil > Sun Form + Li.

From there, you can technically tackle the abyss and finish the game. However, you should explore around now, as there's two other forms (Fish, Spirit) and a ton of treasures to find. I recommend getting both optional forms before entering the abyss.
