For everyone having control issues with new versions
Hi there first off I'n noone special to the game just an avid player trying to assist. There are issues with switching control modes (weather primary or secondary) and an issue involving spawning outside the test area when tersting vehicles. I made this post to let everyone know that after reading many threads trying to describe the same things and seeking assistance that the devs have seen at least some of the threads and ARE aware of the problem. They are great at taking care of issues but do try to bear in mind that they were leaving on a holiday when this happened. Rest assured they will solve it.

Also note before ranting about how horrible it is, they did include a way to work around even using the new version that is very simple, allows you to use old saves, and only takes a couple clicks.

Here is the quote, but its in the most recent announcement in your library til they add another:

Q) I'm enjoying the game, but want to finish my in-progress Space Program. Can I go back to a previous build?
A: Yes, we have added a build titled 'Legacy', which is the previous Main Branch build. Switch to this if you want to continue using the older build for now. To switch to the build, select Take On Mars in your steam library, right-click, select Properties. Switch to the BETAS tab, and select 'Legacy' in the list, ignoring password input.

I'm sorry I really don't know. I wouldn't see them removing it anytime soon but I think I would migrate to the new stuff as soon as they get it fixed. The post does say that future builds should no longer render your save incompatible, but does not mention this particular build complying with that guidline.

So at any rate I'm not completely clear on weather the saves having issues to be the new build and just "we lost saves one last time" or maybe the saves will work later once they address the issues. Its the space program thats affected from my understanding. Indeed it would kinda make sense the tech tree would have to have some new items in it for the new bases and stuff that alone changing would have to really mess with trying to patch in an older current tree from a save game.

Ok, I kinda agree with you and at the end it will be again "we lost saves one last time" issue that, if we are getting more stuff and launch sequence and malfunction will be more permissible.

Hey guys,

First off thank you goes to xxApvxx for this info thread :) Cheers for helping out the community.

Next, the control issue was a new bug in the build. I am not back from vacation yet but got back from a location last night, and heading out tonight again, but fixed the issue and released a fix build. Here are the changes:

10th September 2014: - Fixed issue where vehicles sent via the Mission Control room could not be controlled properly 5th September 2014: - Fixed occasional crash caused by incorrect usage of string array - Fixed crash that occasinally occured when building vehicles from the 3D Printer - Fixed memory leak associated with 'owned' string usage 1st September 2014: - Added server browser filtering by game version and custom game attributes - Added password protected servers
