Free weekend players, are y'all buying the game?
Just asking 'cause this is super fun and I hope the servers stay alive after this weekend!

Needs to be F2P to compete these days, especially since Wolfenstein Enemy Territory from early 2000s just go a free steam release (always was free!). Obviously for nostalgia.

Paid Cosmetics (like uniform variations etc) plus future campaign DLC could offset the costs/funding.

ye, maybe. This game is very fun. I like this kind of shooters.
Considering the extremely low price it already is, I wonder why they haven't put it out for free already. Same as Day of Infamy. These games are great but it is barred by a small price tag and an even smaller player count. If they release it for free, I bet it would be even more profitable than it currently is.
But then again i'm no game developer so all this is just coming out of my own ass.

How it would be profitable ?? There are no any f2p mechanics in game they could make money on... They can't just start making cosmetics, as it's requiring time and effort and they're releasing new game,

The problem with this game was that they didn't change initial price from the start and were not giving free weekends. Now there are free weekends with discounts, which is good and I personally bought the game on such a event some time ago, I think they could lower the price just slightly more. On the other hand, game even at lowest playercount is fine if you want to play it in more populated regions, as it's always like 1-2 servers to pick.

Just uninstalled. Had it on my list for a while.
The guns were nice.
Don't like the class system.

The reason I won't get it is weird to me lol. I kinda feel like I've lost my drive for shooters like this... just shoot die, shoot die, for a few hours... I feel like I could be doing something different... I did play battlefield 5 early release, I had fun moments... but its just repetitive, and none of my friends play shooters.

I may try a few of those tactical shooters though, the swat ones when I get the time.
I'd def play a ww2 shooter, didn't like hell let loose.

I think there's something too that. For younger generations, this genre may be new to them, but for older millennials, and certainly for we Genxers, these first person shooters are becoming too played out. You couldn't pay me to play COD or BF anymore.

I like this WW1 genre being it's different, and will buy the next game. We also have to keep in mind, this is a very old game, i think 7 years old. It's never coming back.

It may be a good idea though for these and other first person shooter devs, to give third person options or modes, in so customization and other matters mean more, and different way of playing to change it up a bit.

I was trying that Holdfast WW1 mode in third person, and i'd love it if it had controller support. They just need to try new things.
the class system/ group and whatever is very confusing

I can identify so much with this. That's why I'm here actually, I'm looking for a shooter to play, because I can't seem to find one that suits me anymore. For a while I used the Battlefield series as my go to backup shooter, when nothing else was around. But the interest in it has declined over the last years and I'm definitely not touching the dumpster fire that is 2042.

If you haven't tried it yet, you could give Escape from Tarkov a go. I've put over 1k hours into it over the past year and a half, but it finally grew a bit old for me. But still getting 1k hours out of a shooter these days is certainly rare for me.
