Is it just me or does nobody speak anymore?

It might be a problem on my end, but recently, in the EU servers, nobody speaks a word. No text messages, no voice chat, not even a "GG" at the end of a round. It makes the matches feel really dead; as if playing with bots. In the past I've had fun conversations about WW1 related literature and media, including recommending the WW1 musical film Oh What A Lovely War to someone.

Though perhaps it's an issue on my end, and I'm just not seeing it.

I'm very chatty in games. unfortunately, verdun is not appropriate for inner chat because if you lose your concentration on looking around, you will be easily spotted and get shot. :)

Turn the chat off a lot of the time. It's mostly just racist garbage or callouts that aren't even correct.

Go to Options and then check under HUD and see if the Chat Visibility is turned on? (For Voice Chat, check under Audio for the Voice Chat volume)

I think the OP is about the general lack of communication between human players during the games, not that he doesn`t see it.
Team play is going through tough times, that is why one can rarely see any team-talk or even subject conversation, although the simple GG is something I regularly see, even in not a full human server.
On the other hand, as the Soviet Partisan pointed out, most is just pubertal outburst of immaturity.

(on US server) honestly been some time since ive seen a really toxic chat, i feel like it used to be worse. voice comms usually have the more... special individuals.
