Help
Hello everyone. I guess there are many threads about the merge update and the unability to play both games Verdun and Tannenberg afterwards. To be honest, i don't want to spend the whole end of my working day searching for them. I deinstalled both games and deleted all files and the Steam cache. Then i restarted my computer and reinstalled Verdun and Tannenberg. Still it doesn't work for me. Everytime i start the game, it crashes and says "WW1GameSeries .exe" does not work or is missing. I am desperated because i really like them, especially Verdun. So if there is anyone out there, who can finally help me get this running, i'd be very thankful. Thank you! - Stari Lisac

Are both games installed inside of the WW1GameSeries folder in your steamapps/common directory?

Is your anti-virus somehow blocking / quarantining the execute?

Edit: Also, it does seem that when you are reinstalling both games. You need to start with Verdun and then install Tannenberg, as Verdun is in charge of the execute.

i had best luck only having one of the fronts loaded at a time.

when i want to try the other front, i uninstall the one i have and reinstall the other.

another thing which helped me was to always verify integrity of files after reinstall and after any update.

Thanks for your quick answers! I did everything in the right order and both games are in the SteamApps/common/WW1GameSeries folder. It still says "WW1 Game Series .exe has stopped working".
Ah, so it's not a Steam message saying that the execute is missing then?

What are your computer specs? Is your OS and drivers up to date?

It 's a Windows message and my system and drivers are up to date. Win7, 64bit, 8GB RAM, AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor 3.20GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 970.
Hm. Could you share your game log file and the crash report's crash.dmp (if the report was generated) in a new thread on the support website please?

[Ref] Where to find game log files (+crash reports) and where/how to share

P.S. RE: Crash Report,
Easiest to save a copy of the game log file inside of the crash report folder, and then share the whole thing compressed/zipped.

P.P.S. I've had the game generate a crash report even with Windows telling me that the game stopped responding.
