Flamethrower and Stuff ^^
Hey guys,

i ve played the game since the Alpha, and me and my friends stopped playing after one great update a half year before. Now we started playing again, and we had to see the same bugs,
bad balancing stuff and other typicall Verdun behavior.

Thats sad, because we liked the game, played some community matches etc,

One funny thing for me in person was the flametrower game today.

I tried to grilled some guys in the Trench bevore me, i get the hit marker, everythings fine but from 5 people no one died .... and it ahppen again...and again...and suprise....again...

It was uch better a half year or so bevore, get the flametrower nerfed aigain ?

we will not playing again, sad, because we like Tannenberg

Well it's not wrong. The devs should know by now. Why are they okay with having the weapon so crap?

what scares me is that right now the devs have finished work on nearly everything on their roadmap. means theyll likely announce something big soon....

i wonder if the wex is broken on consoles as well...
The wex is useless. Even if playing in a private match with only bots. One is easy prey with this thing (its not really a weapon).

One thing is annoying. Beginners who think the wex is great, ask for switching to Pioneers squad, again and again, sometimes. And if other beginners agree, you can watch them being slaughtered all the time, when running around with the wex.

What do you mean regarding bad balancing?

10 or more prestige level players stacking up in the same team, hammering down a team not having even 1 level 100?

Happens quite often.

Oh extremely frequently. And then, because the losing side dares to have 1 or 2 more low level players, the game slaps that side with a 6 or more second respawn penalty, despite the fact they're getting their rears handed to them.
There's not much you can do about balancing outside some kind of matchmaking system based on a kind of MMR rating.

Numerical balance is inherently stupid and flawed. Not all players are equal and the disparity between one individual to the next is often great. It's even worse right now cause it doesn't even consider the score of the game or how much time is left.

Level balance is also stupid as level is completely meaningless in terms of raw skill or talent in game. There are players with thousands of hours who go prone in random places and do nothing all game. More importantly though nothing stops people from resetting their account or simply smurfing.

Even an MMR rating would still be susceptible to smurfing but it would be the most effective way of balancing games. Ultimately though that would probably require a lot of work and I'm not sure how you would even want to calculate rating in a game like Verdun since there are so many variables at play.

And realistically more restrictions just lead to making the game more and more difficult for people to play with their friends. The team balance system is already more detrimental than it is helpful as it has no impact on match balance but can be quite a nuisance to deal with when you're trying to play with friends.

The current balancing system is only in regards of headcount. 10 noobies versus 6 high end prestige players gives a penalty to the noobies.

The current system does not even allow me to join the underexperienced team, because they have more human players.

Imo this is just a mess.

Asked several times for a real balancing system like other games have, do not know why it is not implemented. Did not even get any reply to my proposals and questions.

Maybe the Devs are not able to code it, or they do not want the clan players, idk.

Well, maybe hammering down noobies is the right challenge for some friends playing together. idk

Other games like DOI have a good balancing system.

You didn't actually quote anything so let me down my best here.

Well lilifee this may surprise you, but people typically have friends and people typically like to play game with them. Personally I seldom play games by myself as the enjoyment of any game is is usually exponentially higher when you've got other people to play it with, but that is completely subjective of course.

Nevertheless It's not like every friendgroup is particularly good at the game or creates balance issues. Stop beating around the bush and be clear with what you're trying to say, what you're referring to is clans or comp teams who play together in pubs and steamroll everyone they play against.

All the same you haven't actually addressed any of the points I've made or said anything of substance here. Perhaps you can tell us what balancing system DOI uses and how that can be applied here?

My post was a general answer to yours, thats why I did not pick something out.

DOI balances according to the player's individual level. This help to avoid a scenario where an amount of very high level players hammer down an even bigger number of beginners.

Verdun only balances according headcount. So even if I would like to join the beginners, the software will not allow me, because the beginner team has more human players.

Months or even years ago I started a thread and asked for the main excuses why players do not balance. Maybe you are not long enough part of the community to know this.

IMO every player has the right for a fun match, if some players only focus on their own fun, than ok, but I prefer to let them fight against Bots and not me.
