Well.. after seeing that one server in EU (that have 128 player) haven't died yet...

Maybe 128 player server is good... we can have more players and more madness...
massive charges and lots of death.. really resembles a great war... makes me remember of RO2 massive charge but 100% better...

No. It's terrible.
YES! We should.
Certain classes would need to be limited tho... Like the machine gunner and/or sniper

But 128 player servers should be an option tho just incase some dont like the high player count

Makes absolutely no sense. No.
Good idea might be limiting the MG and sniper... probably do artillery call-ins...

It will be amazing from my point of view

oh ye and arty might need a longer cool down too.

I think the devs should give it a try

I sure do love lag. And grenade spam. And arty spam. And wresting with about 10 people just to move 5 meters forward in a trenchline. I also love getting stuck in spawns, and the absolute cancer in the chat.

The maps aren't designed for 128 players, neither is the game itself. Playing this event has to be one of the most painful things I've experienced in my life.

Cancerous chat is my thing, but the rest are indeed serious issues.
Well everybody have their own opinion i guess... i do not want to debate or things like that....

I never cares about my K/D ratio or get spawnkilled... i just want to play the game.... and the 128 server is so much fun for me to experience it...
maybe a compromise will have a large template public event about once a week on an experimental basis?

by the way, i think the large template games are much fun, but allow the developers to continue tests on this experimental concept before making it a permanent feature as i see two major playability issues remaining with big verdun battles:

1. the extra time given to the attacker for heavy defender losses appears to need more tweaking. a recent update did improve the possibility of momentum shifts but it hadn't been tested in templates as large as were seen yesterday and the clock seemed not to shift very often, if at all, in very large games. give the developers a chance to keep working on the momentum problem and continue testing until a satisfactory solution is discovered.

2. the fact remains that artillery can be overwhelming even if the nco's have only mortars and squads are set at a level which eliminates sector artillery and creeping barrage. there have been a number of different ideas posted in the various forum threads over the last years which might limit artillery to a playable level, but those proposals need testing. some of the suggested ideas are sure to be better than others and it will take trials to find out which ones are best. having new private match commands to limit artillery might be what should be tried. developers can set up public large template experimental matches with special artillery rules they wish to test.

both of these two major problems might eventually find their solutions. the only way to discover is through testing various ideas the developers want to try. if the developers want to have some large template public events on an experimental basis with the intention of testing out various concepts, i am in favor of that and i hope to be part of the tester group.

You already have private matches for this.

Just imagine, considering there's a sale on right now, a 128 public lobby may be newbie's first game. That'd probably leave a bad taste in their mouth, from my personal observations.

If you people want to do them, fine, just keep them in private lobbies.
or it could be the player like the game and want to join another 128 game... (vice-versa)

even i cannot predict what happen if 128 lobbies existed...
its 50-50% chance

I started Verdun yesterday night, saw that x128 horror was the only game, and left.

As a conclusion, since everyone here has the truth, ill consider myself as a truth owner : x128 games make people leave.

In a more serious note, these events are a success, because you cant join an other game, since every player that comes has the only option to join it.

The game wasnt even full when i saw it.

If you make x128 the template for Verdun, we wont even be able to run 2 different games at the same time.

Not even talkin about how horrible it is to play it, its a lagfest, people are playin like bots, the arty spam is awful.
Every piece of Verdun is cryin. It takes 5 minutes to realize that rifles sound all the same on the new update, it takes 5 mins to realize that x128 players isnt an option, and is defended by people that dont care about Verdun.

Some people may be slower.

I mean this is done on the public servers because they aren't getting their desired numbers in the private matches. The idea to expand the playercount is rather silly and as stated hundreds of times is far too much work and effort for very little gain(if any). It's even more absurd when you consider the concurrent average is barely above 100 currently.
