could we get a way to refill ammo to some degree?
this mainly applies to MG gunners (Due to suppression eats ammo) but can we get any way to restore some ammo reserves ,and everyone has times they run out of ammo and need to refill, can and will there be any way to refill in the future?

Nah, we don't need more aspects of the game encouraging players to go prone in one spot for extended periods of time. You have a keyboard, it's time to use it. Maybe stop playing MG, too.

yes, play only highlanders, SMLE, in the team with the most players.

mate,I do try to move up with a squad full of friends,my only encouragment is to stay behind long enough to let them push up to than cover my advance ,than repeat til we are in their trench or time runs out

otherwise can the MG gunners get more ammo to actually support with than? (I get the idea of people sniping is a issue,Which I will be honest I don't have any idea beyond things that effect everyone else as a side effect)

Defensively, you're a static target for a skilled marksmen to take out. Offensively, you throw an inefficient amount of lead at targets so fast that you run out of ammo and need extra ammo to continue playing. This seems like an issue with how people play MGs, not with the game itself.

Defensively you can take out an impressive amount of ennemies in little time and offensively, you can divert the ennemy's attention from your squadmates and kill anything that peaks its head up.

of course, if you have no practice with it you'll die. but like most guns in the game, MGs arent good or bad, there is just a good and bad way to use them.
wasting ammo and never moving with your MG is a bad way to use it, but doesnt make it a bad gun

Maxim is just a troll who likes being argumentative and making himself sound good. Ignore him. He is on this account because Verdun Moderators Banned his PC Zab account.

That sounds good on paper and all, but the only way an MG is even mildly effective is when they're glitched into a wall so no one can actually see them. Different weapons have different strengths and weaknesses, but MGs seem to be among the most counterproductive. Chill out though, I said the way people have been using MGs is inefficient, I haven't criticized the existence of MGs in Verdun.

if you actually gave the other squads some time, you would see what i mean by recon not being as effective as you think.

in the past, its main advantages were:
The exeptional sprint time in the aura
The plane that told you where ennemies were
The squad spawns

now, the aura has been shrinked, with 64x you always have people everywhere and recon is no longer the only squad type with squad spawn.

you like the SMLE and youre likely a clan player, try the tommies! at level 60+ their SMLE fires 36 bullets per minute (instead of 30 for other squads)

you dont want a squad with MGs or mortars, try the canadians!

you want squad spawn, try the senegalese!

you want less weird loadouts, try the marines! they even have squad spawn when in ennemy sector. there is plenty of squads that all can be good depending on the situation, recon isnt the best squad in all terrains. id even argue that now its pretty weak compared to other squads

I don't need you to sell me on Verdun squads, I've played all of them extensively since 2015. The winter update has largely not changed recon's effectiveness. I don't care about the senegalese because they do not have the 10 round god gun. I don't care about the tommies because of the NCO spawning severely handicapping the squad. I don't care about the marines because smoke is one of the stupidest callins in the game, probably THE stupidest. I am a clan player, sure, and I like the teamplay and coordination in Verdun. We don't really need the utilities and bad callins to do well, so we don't use them. Maybe if you are playing individually you'd care about utilities and callins, I guess.

The conversation is about MGs though, and MGs are among the more unintuitive aspects of Verdun. I'm not really sure how to fix that, but I think ammo boxes will exacerbate the problem, not fix it.
Yuithgf Jul 10 @ 4:38pm
the SMLE might have 10 rounds, its not very accurate and takes 2 days to reload. my whole point was that since 2015 squads have changed drsatically.

MGs are one of the few guns that add to teamplay and player coordination just with how they are used in the game, and to me thats far from a problem.

if you want to complain about ammo crates making people camp with weapons that dont help the team, i would instead recommend ♥♥♥♥♥ing about scoped rifles. unlike MGs they actively encourage camping, they are rarely useful to the team, and ive seen noobs survive through an entire game with a sniper where as you pointed out an MG gunner often dies quickly if he is spotted and doesnt move.
getting off this arguement

how would you guys suggest about adding ammo refills?
Yuithgf Jul 10 @ 5:09pm
on the old support website someone made a very detailed post on how to make it work but not have it be broken. i think it was something like:

have crates refill only half of your ammo
have them refill you only once per life
have them not work for the ennemy until they capture the trench

Make them exclusively spawn in the enemy trench to make MGs actually advance. Done.
Yuithgf Jul 10 @ 5:23pm
MGs advance. snipers dont.
an MG that doesnt move dies.
