Seems the turtles on the beach die easily (couple hits), the tortoises inland are hard to kill because they pop into their shells.

well i only seen the same turtles when i played and they all pop into shells and take years to kill in shell and they most be un killeable in shell for 10 or more hits and they just dont die

Ah you need to crouch then use the spear to get them within their shells.

Joking aside just head to any beach area and 1-2 hits gets you one dead turtle :)

you can kill it with an axe; i/ve killed with a stone axe after knocking it 6-7 times to head, poor turtle

You people are making it way harder than it needs to be!

Chop the things head off with an axe and it dies and you can pick it up. If 1 chop to the neck doesnt take its head off, DO IT AGAIN!

seriously, one good swing at the neck. aim carefully and use a downward chop.
