If that is the case to it being short lived as a user defined fix then I suppose gathering less items will be in order until a real fix gets released.
But as for now and it's succession rate it's a nice alternative until then.
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SKS\TheForest\]
Copy the above into notepad or similar, save it as text file .txt and rename the extension from .txt to .reg, double-click on the file and apply Yes. This will remove all actual settings, including broken save files. Might be easier for people that don't know what the heck regedit is.
It worked for me and many fair few others who have played before the save fix / patched for the save.
My game didn't load the old save, I tried when I delete the "__RESUME___h4231682524" to 'LOAD' while in game to see if it indeed deleted the save and it did, I was in my base, safe and happy, but itemless. However after deleting the registry key I was in a nasty plane crash meaning that the previous save had been deleted.
Does everything in YOUR bag saved?
For me everything works fine, all my items are in my inventory from loading a save.
Okay. And do you have problem not being able to pick rocks and etc after load as many people reported?
Every computer on this planet has different outcomes, mostly similar, they are trying to fix this game to work with a lot of computers that are compatible to play every inch of development and update they process for this game.
In other words, every computer has a different outcome when it comes to Alpha games, even in Beta, but not as bad, so this guy/gal is probably lucky.
Err... okay? I was just asking a question. Do you want a medal? lol
Did you do the intergrity check afterwards?
