It helps keep you warm. Lizard skin is for protection against attacks. Yes you can wear both at the same time. There is a limit to the amount of armor that you can equip though.

You can also make a waterskin to collect water in and bring along with you to drink later. You need 2 deer skin and 1 rope to make a waterksin

i use them in the caves :)
putting light skulls everywhere when the "road" splits
and than putting a skin in the "road" that leads to the exits :)
no more getting lost in there :D

you can also use the cooking pot for that, so you have 2 portions of water on you =)

One thing I never understood was we use the pot to get water from a pond or lake. Is there a way to boil the water over a fire to make it clean and safe to drink?

that's the point yeah :)
i prefer the easy way just fill the pot at one of your turtle shell drink things and there is no need to cook

i dont think you can drink from the cooking pot unless you put it on a fire.i might be wrong though

if you put clean water in the pot, cooking it wouldn't make much sense :)
