Spoiler
I searched for new youtube videos about the new ending and couldn't find any showing Timmy happily surviving, that leads me to believe he doesn't. Kinda feels like Mass Effect 3 or Life is strange choice of ending and like those two games, I'll have to pass on this game it seems. Life is nasty enough without creating extra disappointment as the end game..
You can't choose good/bad ending tho.
There is only 1 ending. (Unless you reverse to older version then you can see bad ending)
Also it's pretty rediculous :D
There is scene where you give timmy robot... even if you didn't find single piece of the robot... even more rediculous is fact that it is different robot than the one we find and craft
Hi, because I only bought the game 2 days ago, and wasn't following the game at all, I didn't know about the circumstances of the Timmy ending. So I searched these forums and also videos, because I try to avoid long time play commitment in games that reward you with bad ends (e,g, ME 3, L I S, both games I avoided).
Without doing the spoiler thing again, the information I found led me to conclusion that the ending would be unacceptable (to me) and have refunded the game.
The game is tight, very attractive flora, fauna, water, even the cannibals are nicely done. I am quite sure I would have enjoyed the fight to end, but there's the saving the son part....maybe as a parent my views seem overly sensitive and yes, I play other games where killing is a focus. But this is different and maybe only a parent can see it as such.
tl;dr if I could have been assured by the Dev of the POSSIBILITY of a happy ending if did X (whatever X was), I'd have kept the game. If any Dev wants my money, I'm entitled to get an ending * I * enjoy.
If you don't want bad nor good ending then... what ending do you want ;D?
Also story is totally optional and you can't even continue after you save timmy :D
You have to reload last save before you entered endgame :V (Endgame blocks saving so you can't get stuck after point of no return)
You realize this isnt a story driven game right? You should do some research on what type of game you're buying next time.
The fact you played this for less then 2h and quit because you're "entitled" to a happy ending is adorable.

The fact that you'd knowingly play a game that ends in a horror filled bad end and you LIKE it, speaks a lot more about you than it does about me. I find you less like adorable, more like detestable, no offense though.
what type of person researches game endings that arent even exactly story driven for the type of ending Lmao
this game is more sandbox, craft, survive (fight)
i personally would give it credit for being a good buy if bought solely for story, but the story in this game depends on how much of a completionist you can be and it can be ruined if you accidentally enter the wrong cave at the wrong time
Your mindset is not unique, ME 3 thought a polarizing ending would be great, but the reviews told another story. Same with L I S, in BOTH those games a modder fixed the endings for the people who'd already bought the games.
I LIKE a game that challenges me and periodically throws hardship my way, but if there is an END, it needs to be satisfying (i.e. good triumphs over evil) or I won't play it.
You see, I'm not a masochist.
Good luck to us both.
timmy survives and mutation stops, nothing bad happens ;-;
also what's masochist in the normal stuff?
guy used machine to mutate son ;D He should mutate.
But kids cried and timmy doesn't mutate :/

There is a reward after the ending of the storyline. You get a new Creative Mode in menu if you start a new game which allows you to sandbox build without gathering resources to do so. Please remember - the story line in this game is more of a "extra thing to do" as you build and try to survive and find clues in the caves that you explore to find better items to help you build and defend yourself. It is not a hard story linear driven game, its heavy survival and building.
I'll try it this way.
1) Can a LIVING Timmy be reunited with his father WITHOUT his mutating into a monster?
2) If the answer to 1 above is YES, then: HOW EXACTLY is that done?
Thanks to anyone who cares enough to reasonably respond to my questions.
It's funny how some people don't think a customer should get what they want when they pay to purchase a game.
I don't buy games that are downers. Life gives many oppertunities to create that sensation and I avoid playing games that simulate it FURTHER.
