Key Binding

With the new update I am no longer able to bind keys to my mouse side buttons. I cannot even bind my left ctrl to sprint and left shift to crouch. Anyone know how to fix this?

Edit: For anyone in the future, hold down shift/crouch to bind the keys (Credit: Jamesfle). I am still not sure about other keys though.

I had key-bind issues until I reset them to default and then they worked fine

Restarting your machine can sometimes help too.

Yea I had my old keybind with my side mouse buttons and wanted to redo it and now it won't bind mouse buttons either. Restarting or defaulting does nothing.

I'm having the same issue. Also, binding keys in general is now broken, many keys, such as left and right shift or control, or the enter key can't have functions bound to them any more.

You need to hold those keys for 2 seconds rather than just tap them. Not sure why, but some key bindings require the holding.

The game won't let me bind SHIFT to anything even though it was already set for one thing when I looked. I changed that binding to something else and I still can't set SHIFT. It's been weeks since this thread was made. Anyone know if they're working on this?

You DO have to hold down certain buttons. That is such a weird thing to have to do. I've never had to hold down a button in a game to bind, and not have some sort of visual signal (like a progress bar or something).

I believe the holding down delay for shift, ctrl, alt, may be so you have time to add a second button if you want eg SHIFT + z
