Crazy Hedgehog Challenge

After last week where Aruru flooded the challenge with runs,[www.twitch.tv] this week he came strong with a L2:5_3 that got him the win.[www.twitch.tv] Def also posted an impressive L2:4_1, but could not find it in his heart to beat his friend.[www.twitch.tv] Forkkify held onto his low damage run for the longest time while Qinji pulled a Wizard and killed Mcswift's dreams. Conspicuous by his absence was Kurt (Bob) who was slowly and painfully driven even more insane by his own challenge.[www.twitch.tv] While there can only be so many winners I'd like to note some runners like Jay,[www.twitch.tv] determined Jack, Serwyn,, and Cygnus who fought for spots he could not keep. Finally Wizard tried to pull a Wizard trick of his own, but was just a tad shy of Aruru's lead.

Hello. For those who are not aware there is a man named Kurt who streams Nuclear Throne. Like many runners he has had a variety of runs. What makes him unique in the community is that he has gone completely mad. During previous normal streams and challenge runs he has happily accepted weapons that are obviously horrible. Even more absurd is that some how he makes the runs work. This week everyone shall occupy the same head space as the hedgehog known as Kurt and go against standard conventions or any conventions really. Again we'll have the winner for the top run, but also minor wins for top runs in all the dysfunctional weapon categories that might be based on the community; Low Damage, Unreliable, Ammo Intensive, Masochistic, and Short Range.

The person who posts the furthermost single player recording of a Nuclear Throne run while playing as Robot, using certain weapons and eating repeatedly before July 26, 2014 will receive a game via steam (note the rules below).

Run Specific Rules:

• Players must select Robot.
  
• Any mutations can be chosen.
  
• Any crowns may be picked.
  
• Players may only start with the default revolver.
  
• Players can only use the revolver and weapons on the dysfunctional weapons list.
  
• Players may only have one weapon equipped at the end of each level.
  
• The weapon carried at the start of the level before the level the player died on will count as the weapon used that run.
  
• Victory is based on distance.

Recording Rules: The run must be done with update 36. After the run ends please leave the death screen up for at least 5 seconds so the end level can be confirmed; the distance of the run will be determined by the death screen assuming it appears accurate and will determine who wins. In the event of a lock up the last level that fully loaded ,and was seen in the video, will be counted as the final level. The game cannot be modded aside from the use of recording software. The run must be done on a version of the game that all Nuclear Throne players have access to. The video must also be viewable in the U.S. so that the run can be confirmed; strongly suggest Youtube or Twitch. The videos must be imbedded in responses to this post or have a direct link to the video in the response to this post. Do not put any visual or time related edits ,aka cuts, into the video during the duration of the run. Audio edits and voice overs are fine. If you pause or go afk during the run just leave it in the video.
Win Rules: Players can post as many runs as they want as submissions as long as there is no obvious spam; players are also encouraged to post their best runs even if they do not win. If there is a tie I will give the win to the earliest unedited post in response to this; it will be based on when the response is made in steam and not when the video is made. If the post is edited after I have seen the video in an unedited post then it will still be accepted. Previous challenge winners can still win this challenge. Members of the Nuclear Throne Dev Team and people associated with the Dev Team can win the challenge. Whoever wins will have to accept their game through steam by using the friend system. This means Solid will friend the winner to pass over the gift, no you are not required to keep Solid on the friends list after the exchange. The player who does the best in the challenge will be offered a game of Solid's choice. Yes, games other than nuclear throne will be the reward although do not expect anything too new or expensive.
Additional Win Rules: The top run for each category will be offered a very minor game of Solid's choice and a position in the conclusion of the challenge. The standard rules and dates still apply to all runs. The same person can win multiple times. Wins for being the of a weapon type, but not a top run, will not count as wins for future challenges.
Dates: The official end time for responses to this post will be at 11:59 pm on Friday, July 25th, 2014 (right before it becomes July 26th, 2014) based on the GMT time zone. However Solid is a stupid American and MAY accept runs that are posted shortly after the posted time. Solid should claim the victor and try to contact them around July 26th, 2014 However that is entirely on the basis that Time Warner Cable remembers to pay their electric bills again.

I'm guessing you must play as plant, and must take the Extra Feet mutation if available. But since you said you doubt anyone is gonna guess it, it probably doesn't have anything to do with Sonic the Hedgehog.

I'll fully agree to the first two parts there... The one thing I would never do is count Wizard out though. Not saying hes got the win or anything; lotta skill on the table from multiple parties, but he has earned more wins than anyone else.

I'm sorry all, the update will hit on Sunday 20th. I forgot my Macbook, and I need that to build the OSX version. It's been a bit too hot in the Netherlands to not be drinking all day, so my brain has been a bit fried. I'll go get my Macbook tomorrow, and build as soon as I can!
