If you haven't already I'd recommend checking on the DCUO forums for an answer, here's a link to the pc support section:

This thread also may or may not help: https://forums.station.sony.com/dcuo/index.php?threads/socket-error-11001-strikes-again.200703/

i found out the servers r down till like 12:00 or something

Well, yes the servers are down for about another 4 hours (6 hours maintenance for game update 39 which started two hours ago) but I shouldn't think that would give an error message.

Oh well, if it works after the maintenance it isn't a problem I guess, if it still does not after I'd say search the forums further.

LAUNCHPAD: ERROR 11001

This error may appear when opening the LaunchPad if Proxy Settings are turned on in Windows Internet Options. Use the following steps to disable them:

  • Open the Control Panel and click on Internet Options
  • Click the Network tab at the top of the window
  • Click on the "Lan Settings" button at the bottom of that window
  • Uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN" and click OK
  • Click OK again to exit the Internet Options window
  • Run the game by right-clicking the DCUO launch icon and selecting "Run as Administrator" from the menu that appears

Well 11001 Error Code is caused in one way or another by misconfigured system files in your windows operating system the corrupted windows system files entries can be a real threat to the well being of your computer.

There can be many events which may have resulted in the system files errors. An incomplete installation, an incomplete uninstall, improper deletion of applications or hardware. It can also be caused if your computer is recovered from a virus or adware/spyware attack or by an improper shutdown of the computer. All the above actives may result in the deletion or corruption of the entries in the windows registry. This corrupted registry will lead to the missing and wrongly linked information and files needed for the proper working of the application.

I reccomend you downloading: CCleaner[www.piriform.com]

It's not a DCUO issue at fault here.

If CCleaner doesn't fix your problem then there is only one other option but it calls for a sytem restoration:

  • 1) Start your computer and log on as an administrator.

  • 2) Click the Start button then select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore.

  • 3) In the new window, select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option and then click Next.

  • 4) Select the most recent system restore point from the "On this list, click a restore point" list, and then click Next.

  • 5) Click Next on the confirmation window.

  • 6) Restarts the computer when the restoration is finished.

If you've never done a SR, then it's likely your PC will revert back to factory settings, do not attempt this just for the sake of playing one game.
