Steam Cloud Save / Mac Save File Transfer

Hey,

So this game looks amazing and I'm really keen on picking it up. The only problem is that I own a mac.

I know that the devs are working on releasing it on mac over steam, but I noticed that there is no Steam Cloud saves on the store page. Does anyone know if this will be implimented?

I'm mainly worried about buying it now and playing it using Crossover, then not being able to transfer my save file to the mac side once it's released on mac.

Bump. How do I transfer my save from my PC to my mac, now that the OSX version is available?

You can copy the files from the Windows version to the Mac without any troubles. Here are the folder locations:

Thanks for the very quick reply, but I cannot seem to find the RogueLegacyStorageContainer subfolder. I'm on OSX 10.8.5, using the Steam version of RL. Would the save location be different?

You'll want to run the game at least once to create the directory as needed. You can also make this directory yourself and put the files inside.

(There's a chance that ~/.config/Rogue Legacy/ exists, you can get rid of that.)

I am having the same issue. I cant seem to find the windows location or the mac location. In my "documents" folder on mac, there is a rogue legacy folder, which i believe is the one being accessed by crossover. There is no save folder in the application support even after running and saving the mac version. When i tried to copy the Rougelegacystoragecontainer folder over to the application support folder, it doesn't load my save. Any idea?

If anyone has issues loading saves from the Mac version and comes upon this thread like I did, I think I found a solution. My windows Rogue Legacy save folder (located in %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\SavedGames\RogueLegacy) contains subfolders RogueLegacyStorageContainer > AllPlayers > Profile folders + config file. The Mac save folder (located in ~/Library/Application Support/RogueLegacyStorageContainer/) has the same organization except it does not have the AllPlayers subfolder; RogueLegacyStorage container directly contains the profile folders + config file.

To transfer a save file from a windows machine to a mac, I directly pasted the profile folders + config file into the RogueLegacyStorageContainer folder. Hopefully this helps others who have the same problem.
