"MANA" deck?
I know I sort of already made a thread like this, but this is another really broad-based strategy with a few cards behind it so I figured it was worth making another to float the idea. Has anyone tried making a deck centered around MANA tokens - is it even viable? A lot of the cards seem to have some heavy drawbacks or just don't seem worthwhile at all - Hexrot X, Jenny Deer, Motor Man, et cetera. Cards like Force Wand and Sam make me think there's something to the idea, but I'm wondering if there's enough decent cards for it to be playable even against the AI.

We need more mana token producing cards as well as cards that have mana synergy. As it stands, we have far too few mana related cards.

Hoping the Ludosity crew are reading this and are going to make some fixes.

I've been trying the method of putting all the halfway-decent cards in along with some staples and... yeah, it really doesn't have much of a clear win condition unless you can really generate counters rapidly. Something in the vein of Tosca X that would generate counters when you played a card, so long as it was active, would really kick the deck into overdrive. The problem right now, as I've found it, is that consistently generating counters means locking yourself out of a good chunk of your functional deck; I can't play Sam without draining my counters, nor most of my other cards, and Hexrot is just going to sit in my hand until I somehow get enough counters to make it useful.

I haven't tried myself, but I've heard the same thing that Mithalan posted. There aren't enough mana-giving cards. To me though, I wonder if there is something else that you can do to make it work. There are some really powerful mana cards, especially if you can get a lot of tokens. What I think might work well in a mana deck, is do all the usual mana cards (generation and usage), but for all the other slots, put stall cards. Mana decks don't do anything in the short term, you need to get your cards out onto the field to make it powerful, since theoretically you will deal boatloads of damage with all your mana tokens in play.

So in addition to the mana cards, cards that shield, heal, and mess with your opponent cards. Tosca X, Jam, and Lean Boo would be particularly useful cards for this purpose. Of course there is still some trouble with getting cards in the right order, you don't want to have a hand full of cards that use your mana tokens before you have any at all. Bonus note, Role Reversal and Cardplaya would also be fiendish choices, since your mana cards are useless to your opponent, their non-mana cards are probably going to be useful for you.
