I started with laptop and dual core ark servers and whilst they were not ideal it depends what you are prepared to put up with. If you host for friends and open up the map then i suggest they would be less than impressed with this lower arrangement.
Bit of a troll response saying DDR4 is the bottleneck.
Yeah the 64GB one should be completely fine. My servers use 12GB at RAM at max; so just keep that in mind. With more mods and more players you might end up using more. I have 64GB RAM in my server with a Ryzen 9 5900x and 2TB NVME SSD and only have slight issues when i have all of the official maps running. I think The Center is causing issues; might be because the dedicated server software isn't that great, despite multiple patches since launch.
I plan on upgrading to 128GB RAM soon; i imagine Ragnarok and other large maps (Gen2) will take up around 18GB+.
Soo thanks for all your feed back. I created a server to test different things and my friend and I have in the list of servers our server which appears me the host server I join easily but my friend does "time out" do you have any idea
