Holy !@#$ man. That's super bad. Like really bad. Would you say your PC is well optimized and clean? I expected high with around 60 fps and dlss or something.
Yeah, I currently have 16gb. Ram when game is running is at 75%.
Alright thanks man for the info. I went ahead and bought it and I'm going to test my luck on it's performance. I know I'll end up buying it later anyways after it's optimized more. I'll edit my post if I don't forget with how it ran.
The game recommends 32 but I'm hoping that's just for high load situations. Going in with 16 gb of ram. If I don't forget my post then I'll update with how it ran.
Putting effects on low can free up to 40% more FPS depending on the scene. It seems to have effect on Clouds and water.
Turning realtime physics down (movement of foliage and water when it colides) can give +10% more.
Turning Global Illumination down can give another 10% (it actually loses a lot of its lightning magic in this case - but looks more crisp at the same time, brighter at night and yet still much better than ASE has ever been)
So there is a bit tuning potential. Except the global illumination, i would say +50% Push can be done so you end up on 1440p with about 45-50 fps without sacrificing too much of the image quality.
From what im to understand, the RTX 40 series is the worst the game is currently optimize for. Some users with 2070's are even having playable framerates. The 4070 "should" be running it alot better then a 3070 but I think alot of the performance return falls off greatly with the RTX 40 series and the game. It's on wildcards end.
Edit: Oh sorry forgot to mention I bought it and ive gotten ALOT of hours into it so far. I got it on high preset, global illumination on medium, dlss balanced, and 1440p and it runs great so far. I used to be able to do global illumination high but starting today im getting performance hitching every now and then so is set it back to medium.
ALL MID settings except:
Resolution scale 90
Advance graphics High
Post processing High
Foliage High
(optional)
Light bloom OFF
light Shafts OFF
Low Light OFF
Foliage interaction multiplier 0.4
Foliage interaction distance 1
Foliage interaction quantity 0.75
DLSS Performance ( balance is the worst)
those are the best settings i found for 3060-3070
-I dont see much difference between high and mid, the options that really make the difference in terms of FPS and Quality and i use them on and off are
Global illumination quality +10+20 fps at the cost of the game looking like old ark, you can remove it with these commands
r.VolumetricCloud 0
r.VolumetricFog 0
Disable HLOD (this one is like +5 fps)
To play on better settings you definitely need high end pc, these settings are for the average person that can run Ascended
