Amnesia: A Machine for... what?

Am I the only one who was intensely dissappointed by the pig element of this game? The game itself, although pretty scary (and actually at times rather beautiful!! -sorry) really didn't stun me into submission when it came to the pigs. Just where were these so-called "pigs"?! And what was the machine? Ok, there were some deformed piglike things in game and a few crippled ones dotted around the place but really, where was the option to play as one of these piglike creatures? If I'm honest, I was somewhat dissappointed after completing the game that there wasn't a "Play as a Pig" option - imagine seeing a trotter holding the lantern! Not only would it be more faithful to the game's title, but it would add replayability (and a certain sense of childish fun!)

As it stands, there is no pig option. For this I give the game a 6/10. ~CheekyWillyams

I agree 100% CheekyWillyams, they may as well have called it "Amnesia: sorry this game consists of a lack of pigs"; that would have been a much more suitable name.
Play As A Pig option sounds like a brilliant idea, exploring the depths of Amnesia as a piglet would give myself and others endless hours of fun, I'm extremely disappointed this idea has not been implemented into the game, we can only hope the developers see this thread and release some Amnesia pig based dlc.

Did you play Amnesia : The dark descent? You don't get to play as Alexander or a grunt or something...
And in how many games do you get to play a villain anyway?

If you read through these forums you will see that a lot of people were dissappointed by the lack of a play as a pig option, especially since it was promised by the developers and then cut at the last minute with no explanation.

I have no problem with this. I think as I've been finding the notes in all the desks and drawers it is explained why you probably do not see the pigs. I mean, explaining further can be a big spoiler. Do you pick up and read the notes?

"Many people" are disappointed by the no-pig option? Usually people are not disappointed for the lack of a feature that was neither ever hinted at nor a prescedent from previous titles by the same company or franchise. Neither the Chinese Room or Frictional Games ever implemented any such features.

I don't see where you're coming from. It's more like a suggestion for future games than a proper definite reason to downrate a game... A better argument for downrating the game would be that there are unsufficient gameplay features overall, it's boring or w/e... but to be as precise as "no pig option" and to throw a fit about it when no one ever thought that there was ever gonna be one is a bit weird.

Most comparable games / horror games don't even have that either...
